JavaWiz Wrote:Looks like you may have a few things going on here. I see you renamed some DLLs probably to save in case of errors, if you do that, do NOT keep the DLL as the extension, rename them to DLL.SAVE or something.
  • I suggest you fall back to the Blue default skin to troubleshoot
  • Shut down Recording Service
  • Shut down GBPVR/PVRX2
  • Reinstall SearchWiz
  • Reinstall Movie Wiz
  • Make sure the following DLLs are only found in Plugins/common
    • HtmlAgilityPack.DLL
    • WizUiHelper.DLL
    • WizWebHelper.DLL
  • Run config. If it errors off, post config logs
  • If not, save settings
  • Run PVRX2
  • If errors, post config

I'll look into the steps you mentioned but for the record I have never renamed any dlls ever. Perhaps another plugin's installer did this, but I sure didn't. I've also never had an error during config saves.

Since another user mentioned an interaction between ICLP that might be the issue as I was testing ICLP, RSS Reader and WebCams 2 for McBainUK.

Plugin doesn't show up in config. Can see error in logs but can't figure what's wrong. Enclosed are the logs. Please help.

Seems like the moviewiz.dll isn't loaded as it should.

Check which version you have in the plugin\moviewiz directory (mine is from 11/11, version# 1.10.2)

Try the moviewiz.dll in this post:
http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=2...tcount=231

Or wait a couple of hours (it's night in Javawiz land)

daphatty Wrote:This statement made me laugh. PVRX2.exe exists because GBPVR.exe hit a ceiling that would eventually (sooner rather than later) limit the growth of GBPVR. The fact that sub has been able to get PVRX2 running with so many features in only two official releases is nothing short of amazing. PVRX2 hasn't fully matured yet but it will. Give it time.

Hmm, glad you get such humor from my frustration...

All I know is that I setup an older copy of GBPVR running on an ancient LAPTOP in my bedroom and it was up and running in minutes and has been happily running and stable since.

The brand new PC with 2gigs of ram and a serial ATA drive I bought to run PVRX2 (which SCREAMED under the old version) hasn't had more then 4 days at a time where something wasn't screwed up making the system unstable and unusable, and many of the simple features I came to love like menus for external programs and panels are now gone.

I guess that, not being a developer, I find it hard to understand why features would be taken OUT of an 'improved' build. Especially when those features are also missing from the old UI...

I'm sure it will mature, (and I bear no ill will towards sub) but right now it's a very cranky child, and I am mourning the loss a system that I used to use every day that now spends more time idle.

If you want to use any of javawiz's stuff you'll need to download the latest ICLP version from the wiki instead of using any of builds I sent you.

Looks like an old version of WizUiHelper.DLL:
Code:
2007-11-13 23:53:53.703 ERROR [1] Inner exception: System.MissingMethodException: Method not found: 'Void WizUtilities.WizInfo.LogMessage(System.String, System.String, System.String)'.
   at WizPlugin.MovieWizPluginTask..ctor()
A lot of folks have been having this problem. The installer is suppposed to replace that file if newer, but it seems to be having problems doing that. Either bug in installer, or some process has that file open so it can't be replaced.

Try this:
  • Manually delete Plugins/common/WizUiHelper.dll and WizWebHelper.dll
  • Make sure those two files do NOT exist anywhere else
  • Shut down PVRX2
  • Shut down the GBPVR Recording Service
  • Re-install MovieWiz.
This should get the right version of the file loaded. If not, post your logs again and I'll take a look.

Apart from deleting the entries manually, is there way for the entries to be deleted (or say hidden) once the show is watched and deleted?

If not, perhaps (another :-) ) wishlist item, like a flush database hide watched shows or delete watched entries?

I find myself scrolling though a lot of entries for shows that I've watched and deleted already.

MovieWiz does not readily know if you completely watched a show or not, it simply tells GBPVR to play it, it does not know if you finished it or not.

I may be able to add a button somewhere in the plugin allowing you to 'mark' it hidden/watched. Then perhaps in the config, have a feature to delete all hidden/watched files and any that do not exist on disk anymore.

Good point!

Both features would be excellent additions to this plugin, if you could I'd be very happy.

I would reccommend seperating the feature to delete "all hidden shows" FROM "watched files" FROM "any that do not exist on disk anymore" (3-way split), to avoid the acccidental deletions of shows that you mention above, are not watched all the way through.

Cheers

Found an old copy of WizUiHelper.dll (10.0.12.0) sitting in the gbpvr directory. Deleted it and reinstalled and it works. Thanks.

BTW is there anyway moviewiz can save watch points like recordings so that I can resume a show later rather than start from the beginning?

Glad you got it to work...

Technically, the GBPVR core code keeps track of the watch points and should pop up a resume dialog if you terminated prior to the end of the show.

It seems in the most current version that this is not working, but I have not had time to figure out what was going on. I'll try and take a look tonight, and if infact it is a bug, I'll let sub know.
