I've just downloaded the newest version 2.2.1.2 and, executing the "Netflix TX Database Build.exe" file, everything just come to a halt about 2 minutes into step 2.

I believe I'm running the proper .NET. (Screenshot attached)

I watch the process on the system monitor and, when I get to step 2, the CPU spikes to 100% and just stays there.....forever.

Any ideas?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Can you send me your log files, I'll see if I can figure it out. They should be in {netflix app}\movieinfo\logs

Also, send me any .log and .tmp files in the movieinfo directory.

Good deal.

I might need to send you an upgraded test version as well. I had the program lock up on me 2 times while testing, but never had the full release version lock up, so I thought I had fixed the problem. If yours locks up consistently, then I might be able to isolate the problem.

Thanks,

Hey Tisch,

Does the program freeze everytime you try and update the database? Have you tried again since the first time it froze?

Hi Tisch,

Try the attached database builder and see if this works for you.

Hi DH,
so, this is about the 4th time I've tried. All with the exact same results. Curiously enough, after I stop the program (when the freeze happens), I cannot just execute it again. If I try, I just get a flash of the black screen and then.....nothing. I have to delete the folder, unzip again, and run the database build.

I tried the file you attached with the exact same results. Unfortunately, nothing in the log files?!?!? I'll attach because I see something in the .tmp file. Hope this helps.

...could it be something with my machine? I'll try another machine that has a fairly fresh install of XP this afternoon and see if that could be it.

.log and .tmp files attached for you.

Thank for all of your help!

Hi Tisch,

Well good news and thank you! Because of this process, after only 1,000 hours of programming, I finally figured out why I am getting blank txt files :o So I can fix that in the next version. Smile

The reason it doesn't open again is because it thinks it finished the database build, so it won't do it again for the number of days in your .ini file. change the line to Time to renew=1 and then reopen the database builder and it will start the build over again, but it skips the files you already downloaded, so it is much faster. Let me know if it makes it to completion. If not, i will send you an updated test version.

Thanks, it is people who take the time to report these issues that make my program that much better and it is appreciated! Big Grin

Hi Tisch,

Well to save time, here is the next test version. This fixes the problem with blank log files, so now I should be able to figure out the problem.
