OK,
here they are. I see the movie record that I froze up on is listed.

I haven't gotten time to try on another computer yet. Hopefully soon.

Thank!Wink

Hi Tisch,

Thanks for bearing with me.

I just had a DUH moment. I found an error that is keeping the program from retrying after an error. I have fixed that problem and added additional error tracking, so I can pinpoint the exact location of the error.

I think this version might solve the problem. Based on the log files, I think I found the problem location, I have it down to a single block of code and I took an educated guess at the error. However, if I still don't have it this version will get me within a single line of code that is causing the error and I can pin point it for sure. I think we'll be good with one more round of error checking.

Thanks again for all your help with this. You are definitely getting a thanks in then next version!

-DH

PS. I have verified that your .tmp file is building correctly, so I only need the .log files now. Thanks! Big Grin

Hi tisch,

What version of internet explorer are you using, do you have IE 8 installed?

Hey DH,
no thank required at all! Putting this together and making it available to all of us is definitely thanks enough!

I'll give a whirl tonight and check my IE version. I cannot remember since I primarily use firefox.

I'll post results tonight.

Thanks!Big Grin

Hi DH,
I made it much farther this time than I ever have but to no avail. It still eventually went to 100% CPU usage and came to a screeching halt. I got an error message after each movie in step 2. I'm attaching a screenshot of the error message.

I can't seem to get my log files attached. The file is too big. I've emailed them to you at your email address on file.

BTW - I was using IE 7 and upgraded to IE 8

BBTW - I haven't been able to get .NET 3.5 installed on my other computer yet. Very fresh XP install so I'm sure I've got some updating to do yet. I'll keep you posted and try this app there when i get time.

Let me know what you think of the log files.

Thanks for all your help!Big Grin

Whoops! :o The test version I sent you was generating errors for EVERY movie even if it worked properly, because I goofed a line of code. I have fixed that in the attached version. On the bright side, I was able to sort through the fake errors and I figured out what line of code was generating the original error, but now I'm not sure why. I mean the program is running this bit of code >2500 times just fine, I'm not sure why it starts crapping out all of a sudden.

So, I added some additional error tracking code and I added in a line to clear any memory leaks that might be forming. So possibly this version will work and if it doesn't I'll have a better idea of which dll file is causing the problems. So please start fresh and use the attached file. Also, please try this below:

Just out of curiosity, did you ever try running the database update again without deleting your database file and movieinfo directory? If not please do this:

1 - Run Netflix TX Database Build.exe
2 - Wait for errors to start, then click cancel
3 - Open netflix tx viewer.ini
4 - Set line Time to renew=0
5 - Run Netflix TX Database Build.exe
6 - Open netflix tx viewer.ini
7 - Set line Time to renew=?? <-- Whatever renew time you want >0

Let me know if it completes successfully.

Hi DH,
well it ran for over an hour before it froze up this time! So, I hit cancel and restarted. I had to go to bed beause it was late and figure I could just check it in the morning. Well, when I checked it this morning I see that the stupd "automitac updates" re-started my computer! Arrrgghhhhh!!!!

My fault totally!

So, I started it again and can send you the log files it you'd like otherwise, I can do a fresh install and try to duplicate what happened last night.

Which would be more helpful?

No Biggie! Big Grin The log files are kept for 10 days, so they should still be in there. Please send them over to me. Then you can try the redownload thing again and see if it works for you.

Because of how the database update works you don't have to start from scratch, you can just run the database updater program.

Thanks!
