Just tried this.
Here's the log
Code:
Argument: -t
Path: D:\Sex and the City\
Title: Sex and the City
GetProgramByDate: 12/16/2005 9:00:00 PM Sex and the City
Retrieving Programs
Retrieved 33
ReturnValue: GBPVR.Public.Programme
New Filename: D:\Sex and the City\Sex and the City - Lights, Camera, Relationship.mpg
Could not find file "-t".
System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not find file "-t".
File name: "-t"
   at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String str)
   at System.IO.File.Move(String sourceFileName, String destFileName)
   at RenameRecording.RenameEpisode.Main(String[] args)

Most Excellent!
I know there's lot of us that have been waiting for this for a long time.
My vote goes to this as the single most helpful plugin/addon in the past year!

I second this.....thank you so much KingArgyle....now if reven (or anybody) can bring a plugin out that looks up the season/episode numbers as well (so I can watch episodes in the right order!), I'll be very happy.

Was sooo excited that kingargyle had taken the time to look at this thread! just tried it myself.

here is my log:
Argument: -t
Path: F:\Media\Video\Captures\Married With Children\
Title: Married With Children
GetProgramByDate: 12/17/2005 2:30:00 PM Married With Children
Retrieving Programs
Retrieved 0
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at RenameRecording.RenameEpisode.getProgramByDate(DateTime progDate, String title)
at RenameRecording.RenameEpisode.Main(String[] args)

Any help?

tpgbpvr:

It looks like it couldn't find the episode the program that was recorded in the the Program Guide. If it can't find the program, it will just die, and not rename the program. It should always at find at least 1 copy of the show by the Title, if it doesn't then you will get the problem that is shown in the log file.

Reboot, I take it that the fixed version worked for you?

Here's my log. Not sure if I need any other info.

Hmm...looks like I'll have to create a Unit Test for this. Looks like it is having a problem updating the database with the new name. Probably won't get to this until this evening sometime.

I'm now getting the same error Sad
It's inconsistent though. I just did a full restart, and it's back working.
I'll do a bunch more recordings, and see if (or when) it fails.

Edit: It fails when a show being recorded doesn't have a subtitle, such as movies, where the foldername and showname are the same.
It also fails on recordings that have unusual characters in the title, such as Star Trek: The Next Generation

Thanks, that gives me some more info. I'm going to pull ZaDDaZ's rename recording down later tonight, and make the modifcations to that version, that way there is only one version floating around, and I'll let me old version float away in the wind.

Hope to have a new version, posted either tonight or tomorrow for testing.
