Weather problem?

what works for me and it's a little cumbersome, but i use winrar to unpack, that gives me a file with no extention, i give it a zip extension and then unzip as usual. No idea why sometimes it's needed to go through all that but i gave up trying to figure it out and go with what seems to work.

so its a zip inside the zip? called weather plugin setup? which will have a exe inside of that?....
ok i didnt realize you could zip a zip in a zip... i thought that would be the exe... it works but i did get some error..
But it works so i dont care.

Probably a dumb question but where should the .xml file go that's included in the .zip? I can't find an existing version of this file.

I too have a truncated right hand side of the display since installing this.

Also, I just spotted the following in my log:

Thanks for the fast fix, before my wife noticed it . Once I added the the to zip ext to the file it work like a champ.

Ok - sussed it, the wind speed now has a space before mph me thinks. Therefore, windspeed needs to = wind[0] + " " + wind[1] - - crudely.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the weather plugin. Just installed it with the fixed zip version you posted here. Works great. Like a few others have mentioned...today we have "Mostly Cl", it cuts off the rest.

What skin are you using? The text field length is controlled by the skin, not the plug-in.

Try this - I'm pretty new to skins etc. but I just tweaked a few numbers to get it to fit better.

Drop the .txt extension and copy to skins\ContourHC\weather

Thanks. It's currently just "Cloudy", so I'll try your .txt file when the it's long enough to get cut off again.

heres another version of the weather xml file I have tweaked to make it fit better with the contourhc skin

main changes are the position and size of the icons so they dont overlap the text as much
