I seem to recall you saying that you were able to pick up some Aussie TV once when you pointed you dish our way. (Sydney I assume)

Did you see any HD when you tried? Or was this just analogue?

Does NZ have any plans to move over to digital and HD?

End of 2007 is the last I heard for digital, with no indication yet whether HD will be part of that.

There wasnt really anything changed in the patched NativeUtilities that would have accounted for this. I suspect you would have had that problem even without the patch.

Have you tried using different audio and video decoders?

I'd also set <BDAQuickPidSwitch>false</BDAQuickPidSwitch>

This was with the BDAQuickPidSwitch set to false.

You're right, I just substituted the nativeutilities.dll and have the same problem. Just never noticed it before as hadn't bother setting ac3 pids on SD channels.

To sumarise, the patched .dll now allows recording and timeshifting of 1080i HD AC3 channels. 576i SD AC3 channels appear to grind to a halt in live preview mode with either version natave utils.

Is there anything I can provide that may help resolve ?

The reason I suggested trying differnet video decoders is your logs seem to indicate its having problems with the video, not the audio:

Okay I tried different video decoders (cyberlink powerdvd 6) with the same results. 576i SD AC3 channels play maybe 1 frame and then stop under livetv preview mode using the original and patched NativeUtilities.dll. The same channels work when the mpeg audio pid is selected.

BTW timeshift and recording of 1080i HD AC3 channels is now working very nicely with the patched NativeUtilities.dll.

I dont know if I'll be able to use it, but I downloaded the transport stream file to take a look.

What did you use to record that .ts file? The built in transport stream mux most likely wont work for your setup.

When I open the .ts file in TSReader is doesnt contain any valid audio or video pids, just a few network and service descriptors.
