this is much better !

don't know if you VFD can handle such characters but if exist a way to remotely share my LCD (LCDSmartie TCP port or whatever) and allow you to test it directly, i'll do it

It was connected with this problem. I've found that having the Redrat changer plugin configured causes .net problems. I deselected this and my LCD plugin problems have all gone. Cheers

It's an LCDSmartie bug I've found. Luckily, there is an update for one of LCDSmartie's files (DNBridge.dll) that fixes this. Version 0.46a that you've got should display your French characters after you download and install the update from here:

http://www.axcis.com.au/shop/index.php?m...ducts_id=6

I've attached a copy of this update to this post. Make a backup copy of the file DNBridge.dll in your LCDSmartie directory and then copy this file in there.

Fooman,

Just tried your plugin and I'm impressed Smile Seems to work well without any of the problems experienced with Gomer's plugin.

Keep up the good work.

Cheers

Actualy all display well on the virtual screen

But it does not display correctly on my LCD Sad
It shows something like "T-¹l-¹vision" but those are not the same than the older DLL ( "-¹" was looking like some japanese characters i can't reproduce).

I've check with another software (LCDC trial) and it seems that my LCD now got the same behavior on both (LCDSmartie and LCDC), but still not be able to display "é è ï î à ù" correctly. As far as i can undertand, this does mean LCDSmartie and your plugin are now bugfree. My only problem is the LCD itself. Will contact MO to have some details about this
EDIT : Done here

Hi Fooman,

I finally found time to try the plugin and it works very well already. This is great work and i'm looking forward to future developments!

One thing i noticed was that when I back out of Live Tv to the main menu the display stays stuck at the live TV text instead of flipping back to the Media Centre text. Not sure if anyone else has this problem, all the other screens default back without problem.

Quote:You want HTPC info all the time except for when "Media Centre" and the current date/time is displayed. If you go to the "Actions" tab in LCDSmartie, you can check a condition and make it do something. To do what you want, simply add the $dll(...) command for line 1, check if it equals "<space><space>Media Centre<space><space>" (substitute a normal blank space for <space>) and make the output go to another screen of your choice.

Also i'm trying to get the conditional display as mentioned above but it's not working for me. Is there any chance you could describe this in a bit more detail and give me the exact syntax that works for you so I can see where I might be going wrong?

Thanks and keep up the great work Smile

0.46b is now released. Adds some new features and fixes some minor bugs. Please download from the attachment to the first post in this thread.

Good to hear.

EDIT : Done here
Your display might only have the Japanese character set it seems. If you can find the character table of your display, you can use $Chr(number) where number is between 0 and 255 and corresponds to the character in the character table that you want to use. You can enter this in LCDSmartie to see what will be displayed and when you find what you want, simply update it in the config files. For example, I use $Chr(148) for the recording indicator which gives me a round circle to make it look like a VCR's recording indicator.

Yes, this was a minor issue which is now fixed in 0.46b. It is attached to the first post in this thread.

My default GBPVR LCD line 1 is " Media Centre ". In LCDSmartie, screen 18 is the GBPVR plugin and screen 19 is what I want to go to on certain conditions. On the screen 19 settings, the Enabled checkbox is not ticked; I have ticked the 'Sticky' checkbox. This way seems to work best.

Next I go to the 'Actions' tab. There, I enter the following conditions:
Box 1: $dll(LCDSmartie_GBPVRPlugin,1,1,127.0.0.1)
Box 2: =
Box 3: <space><space>Media Centre<space><space> [this is what I have as my default LCD line when GBPVR is idle; <space> of course is a blank space and not that text.]
Box 4: GotoScreen(19)
Click Add

Do the same thing again, but change the '=' to '<>' and make it GotoScreen(18) instead of 19. Click add.

Click apply and OK and the display should alternate between your GBPVR screen when it is showing something and your other screen when GBPVR is not doing anything and only showing its default screen.
