Been loving this skin since O.D. PM'ed me about it in another forum. Works "out of the box', supports the popular plugins and is easy for novices to customize with their own grfx. Some screen shots attached of my sunset series...

Hope to get a little more creative with buttons and skin f/x when I get the time.

Thanks Old Dog for such a great skin!

Plain Jane is updated for GBPVR version 0.98.08.

Lots of detail work in this release.

The installation program also installs Appearance Manager, News, Theater Listings, Weather, Web Cams, VA Panel, and Music Panel. You need to use the Config.exe program to enable these plugins.

Quote:Works "out of the box', supports the popular plugins and is easy for novices to customize with their own grfx.

Quote:... the most complete skinning system ever designed!

Works with virtually every plugin there is posted on the wiki, and allows easy changing of the complete look and feel to whatever colour/button scheme anyone could want.

Any user can download Plain Jane, and it will work with any plugin they have.

Enjoy!

Old Dog,
Nice work on the skin, it is now my default. The Appearance Manager plugin is working well also, overall a really great job.
I only have one small thing to ask. My primary video plugin is Video Archive, and the skin works perfectly except for the pop-up dialogs (e.g. when you select a video to play, archive, etc., and checking disk space). These all come up in a solid tan color scheme (for me, anyway), which does not really match the pastoral scenes I have chosen.
Would it be possible to skin these dialogs as well, to match the overall scheme?
Thanks!

I'll need to research your request tonight.

OD,
I have been playing around with this a little more now, and noticed a couple things:
1. The tan color for the dialog boxes is the same in other plugins. I noticed this in the "Recordings" basic plugin (the one that comes with GBPVR).
2. The Resolve Conflict dialog box in "Recordings" (where you can choose to cancel a recording to resolve the conflict) came up with black text on black background. I had to switch to the "blue" skin to resolve my recording conflict, since the black on black was not usable.
Is there a setting somewhere that I am missing?

Where I have control, I use beige backgrounds for popups because its neutral and with Appearance Manager I never know what the color scheme is.

The conflict popup is a case where I don't have control (http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=19799).

As you have discovered, there are a lot of beige popups in Plain Jane. Unfortunately there is no central place to change the color. Hopefully, in a future version I will be able to arrange this.

Thanks for looking into this for me. Smile
So there is no central place to change this popup background color? Darn! I would have preferred black with white text.
Do you have any tips on how I could change the popup colors for just the Video Archive plugin? That is the main one I use, so that would have the most impact for me. A hint on the location of the xml file and maybe the elements to change would be helpful, if you remember.
Thanks!

Thanks!

I've looked where I expected the code to be but I didn't see it. I will keep looking but right now my GBPVR system isn't working so most of my spare time is going to it's repair.

Maybe Jeff or NightWalker recalls where the xml code for the Video Archiver popups is located?

All the VA skins are under the archive subdirectory of the skin. The disk space dialog is in Disk Space Dialog skin.xml. The video popup is in Video Info Dialog skin.xml.
