I updated the usage instructions in the wiki since I was going through this anyhow. Seems that with the updates, some info was out of order or missing. I've also got all 39 pages of LyngSat's United States channel icons downloaded and zipped, but nowhere to upload it to. It's about a 5 meg download. Any ideas?

As far as I can tell all icons are in alphabetical order, so you'd only have to unzip the file, and choose the folder option. The way it's laid out, CLT lists all your channels in alphabetical order, so utilizing this file would seem to be the easiest thing to me, although it's almost a thousand images to parse through.

When using this tool for Canadian stations, nothing is matched. I have to do it all manually (very slow process and a bit buggy). Am I doing something wrong? Is this only meant to work with US channels?

Not writing it, and simply documenting the process I went through while installing and trying to get it set up, I noticed that even with icons that should have been easy to match up, it wouldn't.

It might just be me, but I figured there's no foolproof way to get all the icons matched up and that I'd have to do a lot of manual sorting. I only have about 70 channels to match up, so while it was a PITA for me to sort through the LyngSat icons, I figured I'd do it for everyone else who came after me to make it somewhat easier. You being in Canada, you won't have the same stations, but for national (or "Corporate" stations, such as Comedy Central, Discovery Channel, etc) stations, you'll still be able to use the icons I've downloaded, I'm guessing.

Like I said, you'd simply have to go down your list of stations, pick out the icons, and you'll be done. I'm guessing if I had the complete list of icons to start with, and didn't have to go through the tedious process of downloading them ALL, this would have taken me about half an hour for the amount of stations I had.

It's the exact same situation for U.S. stations, so no, it's not just for the United States. I think it's a limitation of the naming conventions used by television stations rather than the program, as it seems to work exactly as advertised for me, and DIDN'T match up stations with their icons either (like the situation you spoke of).

Shoot me your e-mail and I'll drop the icon pack I've downloaded over to you. Again, if anyone's got any ideas for hosting this 5-6 Meg file, everyone can download it.

What'm I missing there? I've tried the non-registered version, hit upload - no sign of how the heck to upload the file. I registered, thinking they might make it more difficult for non-registered users, hit upload.....same thing.

Scratch all that. I just never assumed you could attach a file that large to the board here, and it appears that you can. I'll shoot this up now.

Split this out to another thread.

I'm using Firefox too and it works for me. Just browse for your file, click upload, watch the progress bar, then it shows your link to the file when it's done.

Drewkaree & h00ch

I'm reviewed the code for CLT, i've spotted a bug in the matching code. I'm back at home tomorrow and I'll fix it then.

I think I've worked out how to handle the US images automatically would you be willing to test a beta release ?

Yeah, I'll definitely test it out. I can easily transfer my icons back in later if it's wonky, so nothing but a few moments of time.

Lemme ask you though, is the matching code just for use on the LyngSat site, or will it work on the folder of icons I've got? They're the exact icons taken from the LyngSat site, but I don't know much about coding other than the simple XML stuff Big Grin

*edit*
Disregard me sending you the zip file. As noted in the link above to the separate discussion, it's now taken care of. I'm still up for testing the new version though!
