Ok, if I go into the advisor folder there are a couple of files or folders that don't appear to be in the right format. One is the all task images folder. It's won't let me open it. Now, if I go back to the original zip file I can open it and run the distribute all tasks but it doesn't appear to be doing anything. I tried running the 'collect all task images' file as well but I get a 'cannot find the path specified' message. When I run the 'distribute all task images' file I think I'm getting a similar message but of course I can't read it because it closes out too fast. Where do I look for the log files to see what errors it's getting?

I don't know why you cannot open the folder.

Are you using a restricted user account?

There are no logs for the batch file, and they cannot be run from the zip file.
Can you extract the folder again and try the .bat file? You can have a different name for the folder if you have problems, but it must be under gbpvr\skin\Advisor folder.

I don't think I'm using a restricted user account. I did already try extracting it again. I have like a gbpvr/skin/advisor/advisor. The new extracted folder has all the task images file and distribute files all correctly in there and I have tried running them but it runs and then there is no change once I restart gbpvr. I tried replacing the old folder with the new one but it won't let me it says other programs are using. I'm considering just uninstalling the whole thing and starting from scratch but as everything else is working relatively well I'm somewhat hesitant to do that over some task images. I suppose it shouldn't really hurt anything.

The only other thing that I've had any problems getting to work is the tv listings plug in but I'll leave that for the thread dedicated to it. I admittedly haven't spent much time on it either since I've been trying to concentrate on one thing at a time.

Just a little update. I wanted to say thanks for helping me with this problem. I did a complete reinsallation and now all now I have task images in my advisor skins. They look like they're just the initial advisor images but I take it that's what the collecttaskimages.bat is for.

I just had another question. I downloaded themes manager so I could switch in between them and it doesn't seem to be showing up when I go into config to enable it nor is it showing up in the menu when I start GB-PVR. I tried both things I copied the dll to the plugin directory and the skin to the skin directory as well as just extracting it to the overall Gb-PVR directory. When I just extracted it it created it's own Base Skin Folder that was not there before. Could this be causing my problem should the contents of that be in my Advisor folder?

PS I also ran the Themes Manager Helper.

PPS Nevermind got it working I just forgot to extract the commongpvrutilities and gbpvruie. Thanks again really appreciated you patience with me on that.

Sorry, I missed this post, this was your problem:

You should only have Advisor at one level, not two levels. (gbpvr/skin/advisor/)

It is a common "mistake"

Thanks again anyway Fatman. I noticed that there is a plugin that I installed that actually opens another gbpvr folder inside of the first one and that a lot of the other plugins put all their files in there. If you just extract to the gbpvr folder instead of putting your dll in the plug in folder and skin in the skin folder that your using it will automatically put it in the new plugin folder and skin folder for that second gbpvr folder that was created. I forget which plugin it was that did that but I think the reason I didn't have the same problems this time was that I installed in a different order so the things I needed were in there before it occured and I spotted it when it did. That may be something to look out for. I'll try and figure out which plugin it was that did that.

Maybe you extracted to the gbpvr-dir instead of to the devnz-dir. That will give you a devnz\gbpvr\gbpvr\plugins\etc.... folder structure.

I think that is what I did. I guess when it said to extract to the gbpvr folder I misunderstood. That's my fault. Thanks for pointing that out though I'll remember that on the next thing I install.
