would the following be possible

when you generate the random playlist you know how long it is.

is it possible to have a thread in your module which fires up each minute and decrements a counter by one [the counter starts at the number of whole minutes the playlist is in length]

when the counter has reached say 2 or 3 you generate a new set of random tracks and start the process again

obviously it wouldnt account for folk adding or removing tracks from the playlist or skipping tracks but it might help a bit !!

I suppose that's another option...bit ugly though. I'll give it some thought....

Just for info (It doesn't really bother me): I've set the random period set to 30 mins, When I select random play it makes a playlist of over 500 songs. It does this very quick I must say. I remember it taking a lot more time, probably the sqllite db.Smile

One more:
When scanning the music, I get a lot of these errors:
Code:
8-10-2006 17:42:36.046 VERBOSE [17] Error reading MP3 File: D:\MP3\Bjork\Bjork - Greatest Hits\08 - Bjork - Big Time Sensuality.mp3 Error: [I]De waarde is te groot of te klein voor een Int3[/I]2.

The translation for the italic part would be something like:
The value is too big or too small for a Int32.

It seems to have no problems showing or playing themSmile

htv, what is the track number or the year of that track?? And does it read when you hit enter on the track (in the library screen) and ctrl-k to re-read the data?

I guess the track number could be something like 1/15 (1 of 15)..

Ok here we go:
this is what I get when I hit enter:

When I hit ctr-k after that:

As you see now the bitrate is missing/changed.
When I hit ctr-k again, I get a pop-up saying something like:

Err. Amazon encountered an error searching for "Björk" "greatest hits"
cya Hans

Edit: But no errors in gbpvrexe.log.

Edit 2: something went wrong with the picsSmile

Edit 3: Took some time but I got it right now.:o

Wow, I think it's time to go to bed. I just found out that the bitrate comes up a bit later (5 - 10 secs). So forget about the second picture, it was a different song anyway:o Sad

@ psycik,

Afaik everytime the recordingservice is restarted, ML2 does a (re)scan of the music-dir. I am a little afraid that this might be interfering with the rest of the startup process. I have problems withe the EWA locking up the rec-service, when I restart the recordingservice it doesn't startup the webserver properly. I'm kind of in the dark here, so I'm trying out several things. Is it really needed for ML2 to do a new scan every time the rec-service (re)starts?

I'll have a look at that. I've been waiting for a possible fix for the notifications for the jukebox mode, that may have just come through, so I may have something to post by the end of my weekend. I've been running a new version at home.

Maybe I disturbed something in the last release...

Ok, we'll see what comes up. I really hope I get all this solved.
Might as well be a 'damaged xp install'. But I really don't feel like re-installing XP.

Hi psycik,

I'm now quoting myself (feels a bit like talking to yourself, must be my ageSmile ).
I just wanted to mention that ML2 does not always rescan after a restart of the recording service. I restarted rec-service several times the last hour but it did not rescan. I couldn't tell when it does and when it does not.
I think I'll leave it to that, see what happens, maybe everything got cured overnight.Wink
