Ok... I found my problem. I'm using an "older" version of the comskip program. (I found that it was tuned better for my needs) I just tried to create a new comskip file with the latest version and it works great. I've attached my old comskip file and the new one if anyone is interested. I'm guessing the first line is the problem.

Old Skip File:

FILE PROCESSING COMPLETE
-------------------
13948 18482
31003 33724
46951 50584

New Comskip File:

FILE PROCESSING COMPLETE 53891 FRAMES AT 2997
-------------------
13949 19384
31004 34629
46954 50585
52565 53891

So I tried with a few recordings I had today to get this program to work, and it invariably sets the audio out of sync every time. I'm using the latest comskip... Any suggestions?

Thanks

Did you run the mplex1.exe Remux thing? (It's an option in comcut) The audio is ok on mine.

Doh! No idea then... I used it on a few shows and it worked great so I've been running thought the 40 recordings of my wife's "What not to Wear". I hope I didn't mess them up or I'll be having Christmas on the sofa. lol...

Hey NiteShdw....

Can it be set to delete the comskip text file when it's done? I'm not sure if that's already an option and I just can't find it...

Have you tried running the application by itself (no commandline parameters)? You need to do this first in order to configure it. You need to go through the tabs and configure where each application is located. In the next release, I'll get it to setup defaults for these.

When running with parameters, filenames with spaces need to be enclosed in quotes:

comcut "e:\recordings\dotto tech\dotto tech_2006.mpg"

Thanks for the help everything works great. I get a couple of commercial frames but thats it.
I needed to shorten the names from GBPVR to get it to work from the cmd prompt but it works fine from the Post.bat?

It would be great if it could do multi files from a menu in windows.

Thanks

Brad

Thanks for pointing that out. I didn't realize that different versions of Comskip had different top lines. I'll fix that.

I haven't worked on the application for a while, but I am planning on doing a manual mode for batch processing. I am interested in what people think of this? The more feedback I get, the more motivation I'll have to work on it.

More feedback? hehehehe.. here's my wish list:

1) The fix for the first line comskip file so I don't have to rerun comskip on my existing shows.

2) Manual mode batch processing would be great! I want to run this on only some of my (or my wife's lol) recordings. So being able to drag a whole folder on the comcut.exe would be great!.

3) Once the comcut is done running I would like it to also delete the comskip.txt file OR even better would be to just remove the cut points from the file so if I was to run it on a directory more then once it would only run comskip and comcut one time. (I'm assuming that if a comskip file exists but is empty that nothing happens)

4) Some way to have it run from a command line. I would love to be able to write a batch file to run on a few directories. I could then schedule it to run every night on a few directories where I know there are going to be new directories.

How was that? lol

Just a quick update... I'm working on an entirely new UI for the application. A new release is coming.
