I'm confused as well. You are trying to play vob files through GBPVR, not an MVP? If that is the case, what happened to your previous thread?: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=33037

i use both gbpvr and hauppauge's mediamvp. when i say i want to use gbpvr, i mean i want to play it through gbpvr's video library as seen on my tv, emulated through the mvpmc dongle and piggybacked off the hauppauge mediamvp. i'm not sure what the confusion still is, unless i need to be more precise in always stating that i'm using bith gbpvr and an mvp.

Sounds like really just want to play a VIDEO_TS folder. I would do it by entering the folder and just using GB-PVR Play all function. Each file would be transcoded on the fly. The sync issue is probably because the vob files has AC3 audio.

but if that were the problem, then that would show up both on the computer and on the tv through mediamvp, no? the files work fine through gbpvr on the computer (audio is synced fine) but it's only when i play the files on the tv through gbpvr/mvpmc when i see the sync problem.

Hi Martin - yes someone on another site confirmed what you said.

To quote (and this is what i didn't understand) "The MediaMVP cannot decode AC3 audio in hardware and as a result, the MVPMC software has to handle it. Obviously, this is not as efficient and will always result in the delays and lack of synchronization you speak of. "

Looks like i'll have to find a way to modify the files to something other than ac3. I still have the project files from DVDMovieFactory 4.0 where i created these family videos. I'll probably see if there's another option for audio streaming.

ok so i finally got it worked out. use the windows copy command to stitch together the vobs, and then use "Any Video Converter" (free download) to convert the stitched together .vob into a mpg video that has m2v video and mp2. That seems to have worked.
