I just posted a new test version that, I hope, will either fix this or give me more information to help me find the problem.

Jeff,

We have success! I installed the new version. I noticed the DB size was still 0k. Deleted it, ran 'ConvertVADatabase' and I got no error! Told me it created a blank DB. DB had some size to it at this point! Smile

Started up GBPVR and saw my recordings. Checked DVD's. Tells me to 'Please Wait' but I don't have any DVD's ripped on the system currently, so I'm trying one now. I'll let you know how it goes.

Anyway, thank you sooo much for sticking with me on this. I know it can be frustrating.

Once I rip the DVD, I'll make sure it pops up. Then I'll restart the recording service and see if everything comes up. That was my original problem.

I just wanted to pass on the good news about the DB creation working.

Thanks!
Mike

If you press F11 (GO on the remote) it will scan your defined directories for files. Actually, now that I think about it it should do this automatically on the first startup if the database is empty - maybe that is why the hour glass is going back and forth right now. if you look in the log file you should see what progress it is making, if any.

I don't have any DVD's ripped yet. One is ripping now.

So far, the recordings list is good. Smile

Hi Jeff,

DVD finished ripping. However, when I try to view the DVD list, tells me to please wait.

Pressed the GO button, nothing seems to help.

However, TV recordings are working fine. I am now able to view the recordings list.

Attached are the logs and DB.

I keep getting the below in the archiver-PC.log:
04/07/07 10:08:55:441 PM[1] Render: ContainerAndParentCount is zero for ; started thread to fill file list.
04/07/07 10:08:55:769 PM[21] DVD List: In FillDirectoryTree
04/07/07 10:08:55:769 PM[21] DVD List: Filling directory list cache
04/07/07 10:08:55:769 PM[21] DVD List: Done filling directory list cache; count is 0
04/07/07 10:08:55:769 PM[21] DVD List: Reviewing directory list to see which entries should be added to UI list
04/07/07 10:08:55:769 PM[21] DVD List: Done reviewing directory list; added 0 directories to the UI.
04/07/07 10:08:55:769 PM[21] DVD List: Leaving FillDirList

I do have 1 movie in the 'D:\DVD Movies' folder.

Thanks,
Mike

It may not have found the file yet. Can you try pressing F11 (GO) and see if that fixes it.

Hey Jeff,

No, it didn't work. Works on the TV Recordings, but not on the DVD's.

Same msg over and over:

I think I may know what the problem is. The plug-in has never worked well with files in the root directory. Can you create a sub directory under d:\dvd movies and copy your mpeg file into it?
