Ahh OK saw your mail....

Great :-)

Regarding the recursive directory listing we have a really nice solution on its way that I think is really cool... I´ll let everyone know in this thread when we get a bit closer (right now on "vacation" from MAP) [Image: wink.gif]

When you're on directory listings: would it be possible to exclude hidden directories from being displayed? Or if that's difficult, what about excluding 'System Vlume Information' and RCYCLER from the directory listing? In my case, the audio stuff is on it's own partition, so I'm in a root directory and get that stuff.

And: would it be possible to allow switching top-level-directories? I have two musics folders on my box, one is shared and the other is personal - I couldn't make one the subdirectory of the other. Yet it would be lovely to be able to access both from the plugin. (by the way, I have the same problem with the Jukebox).

I like the colour buttons - not only functionally, but also as design element. They add a playfull element to the quite grave, functional atmosphere of GB-PVR (by this I'm not saying that I dislike GB-PVRs design, just a nuance :-))

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] (Tobias @ Oct. 28 2004,21:43)]Really happy to hear your positive comments about MAP, thanks everyone. Just going to post a few comments:

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]I do have one question. Using the interface I added a bunch of songs to a playlist. Then I made the mistake of clicking play (instead of the blue button). The play button blew away my playlist. I feel like it should be more difficult to lose my current playlist.

This is by design. The reason for this is that we (me and the beta testers) wanted the Play button to instantly play the song and not just add to the queue like it does in Jukebox. What I first thought MAP should do was to add the file you press play on last in the Music Queue and skip to it, but this is impossible by the way things are designed (you cant skip audio tracj back/forth programmatly using the plugin interface).

Tobias,

by chance tonight I discovered that the skip button works on the playlist when you have a playlist built you can quite happily move backwards and forwards through it using the skip buttons, but I dont see any reference to these buttons in your code, but as they seem to work is there no way to add track at end of music queue keep note of current position and then play track just selected and then return to current position

also noticed a minor inconsistancy rather than a bug if you add some tracks and press green to show album listing you get listing for last added album rather than for the album of the track which is currently playing

first off i love the plugin, very sexy. just one little thing is bugging me, could you change the "coming up next" and "last added song:" text color to yellow or the song titles to yellow, just so its easier to read.  like the nowplaying is white and song title is yellow, just makes it stand out a bit more.

also im having problems with the pg up/down, it doesnt work all the time.

cheers

On several occasions I have found that if when using MAP that if I return to the MVP menu and go into Picture Album and then return to MAP, that on reentry I am not able to add an entire new music album to the playlist. Individual tracks can be added. Is it just me?

can you make the plugin more skin friendly? like make it so the drawing of the roundedrects are in the skin file, the position of the album art in skin file (and size), album info, etc.

im making a skin at the moment, but having a few problems skinning this plugin.
cheers

I posted an entry a while ago about the red button not doing page up. I found that Control R on the keyboard did work though. It turned out that the batteries in my remote were getting low. Strange how that was the only button that worked.

My other point was about making it automatically show the details of the selected album, you said it would make the navigation slow. Sorry, I'm not trying to press you on this, but I had another Idea. What if you update the right hand pane when the users stps using the up and down buttons. I.e., if a key isn't pressed for half a second, display the details. This would appear to give the best of both worlds, you can go up and down the menus quickly without it updating but when you stop, it will automatically bring up the details. I'm sure this could be done in the plugin framework.

What do you think?

Has anyone encountered this error with Music Albums ...

Error:Method not Found: Void GBPVR.Public.IPlugInHelper.StopAudio().

The screen comes up and when I hit any key this error comes up.

Thanks.

OK, just recovering from a harddrive failure on my home PC here, so little slow on reading posts and programming MAP lately, sorry...

My plan is to release a new version of MAP (1.0b or possibly 1.0c) with some bugfixes and only really few new features very soon. First after this release, we will really start working on MAP 1.5, that will have a partly new interface with many of the features that people has wanted in this thread or in e-mails. But as always, bare with me. I also have to work for a living :-)

Going to answer some of your questions and thoughts also:

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]First off i love the plugin, there sexy. just one little thing is bugging me, could you change the "coming up next" and "last added song:" text color to yellow or the song titles to yellow, just so its easier to read.  like the nowplaying is white and song title is yellow, just makes it stand out a bit more.

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]can you make the plugin more skin friendly? like make it so the drawing of the roundedrects are in the skin file, the position of the album art in skin file (and size), album info, etc.

Well... The first thing should be easy to do and may show up quickly in a bugfixed release. The second thing a bit harder, but I promise I will look into to it for a future release.

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]On several occasions I have found that if when using MAP that if I return to the MVP menu and go into Picture Album and then return to MAP, that on reentry I am not able to add an entire new music album to the playlist. Individual tracks can be added. Is it just me?

This I never heard of (or experienced)... Sorry.

This is a nice idea. Thank you for your input.

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]Error:Method not Found: Void GBPVR.Public.IPlugInHelper.StopAudio().

This is because you are using a older version of GB-PVR where the "StopAudio" method doesn´t exist. Please upgrade to the latest version.

Thank you everyone for caring and wanting to help. I cant, and wont do everything you ask for as you probably understand, but everyones opinion matters.

I have just installed the latest version of Music Albums but when I try and use it I get the following error.

Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
