I prefer to see the extension, as I have both avi and mkv.
So I hope it will be a setting... Smile
It'd definitely be a setting, and it'll show extensions by default - since I also prefer to see them.

With the attached patch, and adding <HideExtensions>true</HideExtensions> to your config.xml, it'll hide the extensions.

The icons to show the file type is a good idea, but not something I could do in a patch (since it would need skin changes etc).

Hi Sub, have copied patch into my gbpvr folder overwriting the existing .exe and added the line in config.xml. Unfortunately it still doesn't work, does it matter where in config.xml I add the line?

Thanks

Yeah, I was thinking for next release actually.

No, it shouldnt matter where as long as its not inside another tag.

I've just had a quick double check here, and it seems to be working correctly for me.

Try browsing some directories in the Video Library, then post your pvrx2.exe.log and I'll take a look.

It looks like its trying to do it. Can you post a screenshot?

It worked for me on my PC and with the NMT, and was quickly disabled because I hate this in general on any player.

Hmm that's bizarre why it's not working for me although I wonder if it's anything to do with the option in windows explorer - tools - folder options - view - to 'hide extensions for known file types' I usually have this unticked. I'll check this tonight when at home.

Cheers
