Unfortunately only the VMR7 and VMR9 can show the OSD (incl mini guide). Overlay is not able to show it, which is ironic given the name...

Did you selecting a specific mpeg decoder? ie Elecard or Cyberlink etc...

You could also try running:

regsvr32 "c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\readerflt.ax"

It must be something to do with the new reader filter. I'm using the debug version, wheras you guys have the release version. I'll switch to the release version when I get home to see if I get the same problems.

Sorry dude, nothing.

Even trying to play mpgs in the video section does not work. All i get is a black screen in VMR9 or Overlay mode.

I updated my xmltv file and now i cannot get gbpvr to pick up the new file. I double check my setup,

Cheers,

Sure. I'll uninstall everything, and start it over again tonight and do up a more detailed report.

Cheers,

Andy has just reported that VMR9 seems to work fine with the elecard mpeg decoder. So I must have something that breaks with certain mpeg decoders.

A quick check of the decoders on my machine shows that Cyberlink (from PowerDVD), Elecard, Main Concept seem to all work. Intervideo NonCSS shows a black screen on mine, and Andys reported problems were also with the Sonic decoders.

I suspect my machine was defaulting to a different decoder to your machines, which is why I wasn't seeing the problem. I'll take a look over the week at what has broken support for these decoders, but the work around for now is to use another mpeg decoder.

I've decided to do an interim release which corrects a few small problems. You can download it from http://www.gbpvr.com/Setup005c.exe

The issues it specifically addresses are:
2003-12-19 v0.0.5c
- When watching a video, pressing the unmarked remote button (above play) or pressing ctrl-M will hide the mouse
- Correctly using recordings directory for livetv buffer files
- Stopping Live TV is now correctly returning you to the main menu
- Fixed a problem with scrolling down in music/video libraries when in first column of icon view. Selection was moving off the bottom of the screen.
- added more error messages in the VMR9 component to help me identify a problem from the v0.0.5 release
- Fixes border of PVR350 menus which sometimes showed still frame from last view video.
- Fixed a problem with seeking (ffd/rw step forward etc).

Installed 005c - works with the elecard decoders, although I still don't get ff/rw on the video - I can do skip fwd/back, play and pause without issue.

Trying live tv I got this error message:

I'll add this to the list of things to look at over the weekend. Do you remember if fast forward/rewind work working for you in v0.0.4?

Not for certain I'm afraid... I think it did, but couldn't be sure.

Sorry,

ok just to add to the confusion. 0.0.5c works for me with the system default codec when playing movies from the video option. I need to update my xmltv file for the other areas.

BTW Sub, loading an xmltv file which has out of date entries causes problems in the configuration section. It does not remember the file location.

I'll let you know how it goes with live tv once i update my xmltv file.

Cheers,
