I have 2 of these from this ebay seller, work great, although the orange startup screen masks some potential network troubles that a regular MVP will put up a screen to alert you about. With this unit, you won't get such an alert. RF, SVid, Component - all works aok.

Sounds good. Now I just have to wait. And do some network cabling to the bedroom. And get a tv in there. Oh, well Smile

How well would these work behind a wireless router or an ethernet-to-802.11b adapter?

I'd be driving one of those little under-cabinet 6" TV screens, so perhaps the bandwidth would be OK with 802.11b or g?

I would say, safer with G

first part of taskman chart is DivX file being played to one of these MVP's on 100mb wired ethernet, 2nd part is regular mpg with no transcoding. Something like 5-7% of 100mb is pretty consistantly being utilized, e.g. 5-7mbps on a 10mbps B link, probably not so good, especially if something else is going on to cause contention.

Thanks for the #'s, that helps. I'll hook up the little matchbook adapter I have to my laptop and see what the G throughput on it really is.

If anyone sees one of those D-link external ethernet->wireless adapters, they are the size of a matchbook, can act as gateway, router, or AP, and are fun- the model I link to were on clearance for $15 Smile

I bought one. Dont know alot about it but If I can stream recorded TV and such to the main tv in the living room with it then I will be happy.

Will it have the PVRX2 Screen on the TV that I stream it to or will it have a different interface?

Thanks!

Well, you should be happy since the sole purpose of MediaMVP's is to stream content from a backend computer. Wink

As for the interface, yes, it will look just like PVRX2 if you use the standard implementation.

Just an FYI. I did order 2, only received one and had to open a dispute through Paypal to get reimbursed. Took over a month to resolve and it was a PITA because the vendor customer service did not return any calls or emails I sent. More disappointed than anything as I really wanted 2...
