The iMon app is conflicting with something and causing video to stutter and CPU to go way up. I'm going to try to uninstall it and use an old non-beta verison and hope that helps it.

This is driving me crazy, nothing works. HIP or iMON. I think I have an iMON VFD display but a irtrans IR receiver with an RC6 remote that has MCE buttons. I uninstalled the irtrans and loaded up the imon drivers and nothing works now. I thought that the iMon would have drivers but it did not.

However, when I first load irtrans and then iMon, then nothing I do in iMOn affects it.

Using HIP, it looks like it will work (even lets me map keypress and such), but when it's time to run pvrx2 only the arrows and ok work.

AAAHHHHH!!!

If you take it a step at a time.

First validate that IRTrans is working, if you go to the IRtrans icon lower right, and use RMB Detected IR Commands, it should show what keys you are pressing.

If only some of the keys show as being pressed then you have the wrong IRTrans mapping.

Next, have you programmed anything to HIP. You should have programs logged against 'Program 1' 'Program 2' etc.
I found this needs to be the .exe you are actually running

ie C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\PVRX2.exe

If this program is running then any keys you have mapped will have that sequence sent to the program.

If you haven't got anything set then I think just the arrow keys will work (which is what it sounds you are getting).

Try this first and see how it goes.

Ok, the irtrans part is working good.

HIP is another story. I used your mappings, and that didn't work out.

I tried to manually map each key to the pvrx2 program, and it won't take OK button for some reason. That's where I'm stopped at right now. OK just won't go. Fine on irtrans though.

I tried making this into a file called pvrx2.hip and double clicking on it.

It looked happy, but it won't work while in pvrx2. I hit the back key, and it doesn't go back

If you have setup your own HIP definition, you have to setup the Window class name, which the system uses to communicate with that program.

Make sure PVRX2 is running.
Click on the show classes for PVRX2.exe when create the program link and choose the windows10......

This should set the link for how to send the keys.

Now try programming the OK button (this is the Enter key).

Also if you look at the HIP preferences does it know it is linked to IRTRANS. it should show this above the CHange Device button (I think you might have to download the IRTRans interface seperately for HIP).

The class chosing part was what I was missing. I'm still having trouble with the ok button. Almost everything is working except for the OK and some other keys I can't remember now.

I also just found out that eventghost does support irtrans. This receiver/remote emulates Lirc so I just confirmed that in eventghost. I'm a little more comfortable with eventghost so I'm going to go off on that path for now.

However, given how difficult this has been, it's entirely possible that I'll be right back here asking you for HIP help again Smile

Thanks for everything. I haven't even started messing with the vfd display too much. It was encouraging that lcdsmartie was able to make it display stuff so that will go easier I think.

whurlston Wrote:Here it is. I there are a couple of buttons that I customized but you can look at the commands to see them. Place this file in your "C:\Program Files\Soundgraph\iMon\Preset MCE\" folder (or the appropriate preset folder for you).

In the iMon Manager, set the Application Launcher to launch PVRx2.exe

There was a "Windows Command" button that I had to remove and remap in the "Program Command" window for PVRx2 but I can't remember what it was. That setting will be removed from the PVRx2 config when you load it since it conflicts but you can easilymap it back.

How do you get menu control with this setup? I'm actually using an iMon PAD remote control, and there is no way that I can see to assign, say, Up/Down/Left/Right on the PAD to the appropriate Keyboard mappings. This would make the PAD so much useless junk, as there isn't any other way to get round the menus.

Or is this possible with an MCE Remote? If so I suppose I could migrate the PAD to the trash can. Sad

There should be a button above your up arrow that has a mouse/keyboard on it. Pressing that button should switch the directional pad from mouse to keyboard commands.

Fraid not. The Soundgraph forum actually states (now I've found it) that the PAD buttons can't be assigned to anything else. Anyway, not to worry, I am not looking to use the original remote anyway. I'm mapping some unused buttons to the direction keys on my Harmony 895. SO, for example, the Left button on the Harmony sends the Remote code for iMon's "AspectRatio" button. This is then remapped in the iMon SW to the Left Arrow key.
