With the essential pre-padding, the show at 7pm will start before BBC3 has actually starting transmitting which could screw things up.

I'm not sure what can be done about such instances, gbpvr is (reasonably expecting the channel to actually be there when it starts recording.

Not sure how this affects your "Wife, Mom, Bounty Hunter" recording tho..

The best thing you can do is to set logging to debug, reproduce the problem and upload all the logs for Sub to take a look at.

I have seen the issue when using dvr-ms format. I suspect that when there are transmission problems that corrupt the time line, this happens. I have not had it happen with TS, but sometimes there is evidence of timeline corrupt. At least it is watchable.

In all cases where recording did not stop, it was not still adding to the file, and the resulting dvr-ms file was not useable.

Hi,

I've attached the log directory except for gbpvrrecordingservice.exe.log and .exe-native.log as they were locked.

It happened again yesterday evening when I had to reset the recording service by going into config.

It was recording The Real Hustle 1900-1930 and Numb3rs 1900-2000, when they got stuck around 2005.

The Real Hustle was on BBC3 and that 'started' at 1900. There was another Real Hustle at 1930-2000 that did not record. The size of the the Real Hustle file is 41MB not around 500MB for an half hour show.

I'm recording to mpg so I should come across the dvr-ms problems.

I restarted the recording service and all the other recordings for last night went through fine.

I'm also using version v1.2.9 as I was having problems with v1.2.13 with my "Hauppauge WinTV Nova-TD Dual DVB-T Tuner With Diversity - Model 1175" http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=35683. I never had time to investigate so I reinstalled 1.2.9.

I hope this helps.

Well, now it makes a lier out of me.

We had a case, Using TS instead of DVR-MS, where it got "stuck" recording, and failed to record the whole show. It typically gets stuck at about 27 after the hour when watching a show such as CSI, in high def format. I suspect it is breaking when it goes to commercial, probably at a lower format.

Int he case of TS, it was able to play the first half of the show, something DVR-ms cannot. However, who wants to see half a show? And we discovered it a few days later, so missed several minor shows recording, since tuner was tied up.

With the TS mux, does the file continue to grow through the entire duration of the show, or did it stop growing at the half way mark. (dont guess)

This was last week, before I went out of town, and we erased the partial file.

However, it was about 2 days overdue to stop when we stopped it, and the disk is not big enough for that. I do remember checking disk space first (before deleting), and there was plenty. Therefore, I am going to say it stopped growing. I know from the Olympics that I only have about 6 hours of High Def space available. The file size did not shock me. So, a little better than a guess.

Did it again with TS file.

I can confirm teh file is NOT continuing to grow.

Recording logs are attached. However, nothing after start of recording.

Show is on 9/20/08 from 7pm to 8pm, "The Unit". Recording strated fine with pre-pading. TS file is only 1.2 GB, and stopped updating at 7:08pm. Right now it is 9:21 pm, and status shows The Unit is still recording. Another show at 8:00, "NCIS", failed to record because "The Unit" is taking the tuner.

Let me know what else u need to see. I will have to stop/start the service to stop the "recording". At least with TS the portion recorded is viewable.

Yeah im having similar problems with this.

Ive set GB-PVR to record a series of a show. It recorded the first ep just fine, but a few days later when it was recording the 2nd ep it said it was still recording even and hour after the show had finished. When I finally managed to get the recording to "stop", I watched it and it had only recorded 10min.

Really annoying. Would be great if there was a fix.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

It did it again. Unfortunately, I went out of town, so missed all of recordings this week.

Hung up on CSI Miami on 10/13. Show is 9 to 10 pm. Last time stamp on files is 9:20 pm. Files stopped growing, File is 2.4 GB, where full shows are just over 8 GB.

Windows showed an error, but did not give me anything useful. Indicates a failure of the recording part og GBPVR. I am including all logs from teh 13th through present. I am not erasing program yet. Let me know what else might help.

I am recording in TS, and am using comskip with parallel processing.
