Thats not quite what I said. It'll automatically map a channel if the EPG channel name exactly matches the channel name in the stream - not the .cache file, which created later.

Thanks. That's why I was asking when the matching occurred. I suspected you might do that mapping step when processing the stream, in which case changing the cache file wouldn't do me any good. I've been going through the cache file and changing names anyway, because it's much easier trying to map a name to the channel than an "Unknown9."
I'm trying to assign a few hundred scanned DVB-S channels, so I wrote a batch file that runs SQLITE and directly takes the tuning string from the CACHE file, with the name at the end of that string, looks up the name in the CHANNELS table and modifies the SOURCE_CHANNEL_MAPPING table in GBPVR.DB3
