I have all my music in one folder. It is just D:\Music

I have things like artist name "Olga Ta©€®™n©€®™on" instead of Olga Tanon. Given the artist name is used in some of the album names I have the same issue there.

See if there is an issue with that kind of artist name and album name without any folders for the individual albums.

If you still get no error it is something else Sad

Maybe the artist name is Olga Tañón and the problem is really a utf-8 vs 8859-1 problem.

Yes, the artist name was originally Olga Tañon. I think when I ripped the CD it became "Olga Ta©€®™n©€®™on" in the music tag for some reason. Or maybe that is just how it is being displayed.

Not really sure.

As an aside - It's easy to edit the Artist Name for a complete CD using WMP. Select ALL of the songs from the CD, right-click and select Advanced Tag Editor. Select the Artist Info tab. Each field will be grayed out unless you click the check box next to it. Select each field that you want to change, then type to name as you want it to appear. The change will be applied to every file that you selected before entering the Advanced Tag Editor. This can save a lot of time and aggravation when you have lots of files to change. Smile

The Music IP mixer is a great program that will "fingerprint" your music collection.
It took 4 days to "fingerprint" all my 28.000 songs.
But after that I just had to make a lookup and check the tags to their online database of all song.
(You can do a lookup och individual songs or folders too.)
Well, the program suggested 29.000 changes to tags, so I just did it.....and now all songs have genre and all the other tags right.
Fantastic program....that is free.

It is possible that a corrupt folder.jpg in a music folder could cause a crash in MusicScanner. By viewing the thumbnails in MUsicArt/Folder dir it is possible to figure out what directory holds the corrupt image.

My system seemed a bit sluggish this morning, so I popped up Task Manager to see what was hogging resources. I have 48 instances of AAAWrapper.exe running at this time. What does this process do and how can I prevent the multiple instances from taking over memory?

If it helps, we always access Music from our MVP's, not from the server PC itself.

Thanks!

For some reasone the volume control does not work in the plugin. I just get AddAddAdd across the screen if I try and turn the volumne up.

Any idea why or what I can do to fix it?

AAAwrapper launches cover art downloader. This should not happen, it should only start in one instance. But you can disable the function in the file music.xml

check plugins\music\music.xml and remove +- from

<DontRespondOnCharsFreetextInput></DontRespondOnCharsFreetextInput>

The plugin appears to handle volume input in a rather unusual way.
