Sorry still trying to get my head around all the different file types.

Should have checked first. AVI is a container for MPG. Sop I am manually coverting OK.

GBPVR (1.2.13) HVR 2200, 8600GT

I wonder if sub has already fixed this in the new version? I also use version 1.2.13 but not sure what version some of the others who have posted in this thread are using. If its fixed in the most recent version, then we may just need to upgrade Big Grin

The commandline seems to be missing some arguments.
Maybe you should check you config.xml and see if the following line is there:

Code:
<MVPFFmpegTranscodeTS>-y -i "{SOURCE_FILE}" -vcodec copy -acodec copy {DEST_FILE}</MVPFFmpegTranscodeTS>

Maybe it is just a flaw in the logging.
AMD Athlon 64 3000, HDD: 80, 120, 200 GB, Hauppauge 350 + 150, MVP, Asus 6000L Laptop client, Asus X50sl client,
Fritz!box 7140 modem/router, GBPVR 1.3.7.

Mine looks like yours

<MVPFFmpegTranscodeTS>-y -i "{SOURCE_FILE}" -vcodec copy -acodec copy {DEST_FILE}</MVPFFmpegTranscodeTS>

Does anybody else use vista and auto transcode TS to MPG?

That is the default that sub uses, it is mainly used for remuxing SD to mpeg-ps and not transcoding

I just got my 1600 setup and I finally got some TS files to play with. It was my plan to get the commandline stuff for auto/man conversion and MVP on the fly transcoding working for ZProcess with ffmpeg or mencoder. I don't doubt it's going to take care of all these issues.

(It really looks like long file name, spaces, quotes problem - I don't have that problem with ZProcess..

Anyway, some of you may not have tried ZProcess, but to some it up, it's basically a batch file that goes between GB-PVR and a transcoder (ffmpeg or mencoder) It does lots of calculations to maintain aspect ratio and stuff.

But I know that you guys want simple conversion and it can do that for you too..

Problem is, the one QAM channel I have is a Yule Log, and I can't tell if the audio is in sync with the picture.

So I really need a good 1080i HD sample to play with. Hoping to also get one in SD, and from both NTSC and PAL... just to make sure...

PS,I'm also gonna get on transcoding on the fly mkv files - it's pretty much the same mechanism...

I can get it going as soon as I have test files...

Progress report: I have ZProcess transcoding 1920x1080 AC3 video that transcodes on the fly to the MVP...

Thanks to mvallevand, (he suggested I use VLC as a transcoder for on-the-fly DVD on the MVP), I was able to get a very good quick transcode.

Now, On my machines, I've been borderline transcoding basic DIVX at 5500ms PrePlay Delay. I have always felt comfortable with 7000. A little bit longer wait and a great transcode every time...

But for HD TS to MVP, I needed to crank it to 10000.

I believe there is still more that I can tweak, but it is a pig of a file, so maybe not...

I would love to know it will work for all the different variations of the TS. So here's a question to you all: How does your HD TS file play in VLC? My guess is, if it plays well, then I might have it working fine.

Love to hear from the NZers...

I'm using VLC 0.8.6 i, which is the last version before the really big switch to .9.0 series (which I don't like...)

---

Anyway, Transcoding on the fly is the difficult part. Manual and auto transcoding to the other file formats should be easier...

Yes, I don't believe FFmpeg will transcode a HD TS with those settings. In fact I was unable to get it working at all. I was closer with MEncoder. Best success so far with VLC.

I'll be having a release of ZProcess for anyone to try shortly
