How do I activate ffmpeg to automaticaliy convert MPG video to AVI format in GbPVR

How do I activate ffmpeg to automaticaliy convert MPG video to AVI format in GbPVR. I Get the MPG file when recording but the codecs do not include Xvid and the file is not converted automatically to AVI format. Also some times only records less than 30 minutes?
