Yeah, that's it: http://www.cinemasquid.com/Tools.aspx

Source code is on his site but he didn't have a specific license attached to it so I emailed him. Glad I did, he had some good tips for me for dealing with various discs.

added the framework for internet lookups, its pretty generic and should be able to handle most things (not finished yet, but it should give you the idea).
all the sources (imdb.com, amazon.com etc) are configured in an external xml file (currently its embedded, ill change it later, and only imdb is done (and only 90% done)).

theres also a sample windows forms project which allows you to test the framework. so have a download and a play if you're interested

I've been following this thread with interest. It seems many of the UI Elements and helpers being proposed overlap with what several of the WizTools do. I don't think it is a good idea to have two sets of toolsets that basically have similar functionality and will potentially cause problems down the line.

The WizTools were my first experiment with programming in C# and GBPVR, so may not be as efficient or well thought out as they should be. Therefore I am considering stopping development and enhancements (bug fixes will still be supported) to that toolset in favor of what Reven is working on here. I will be glad to open up the WizTools source if any of it may be useful to this project.

Any comments, concerns about this approach?

it would be great if we combined efforts, you couldnt just copy and paste your existing code, but you could port it, and it should mostly work.

everything needs to have a ticket logged though, so if you're adding new controls (or whatever), just create a ticket on google code and describe the functionality you are adding etc (just look at the current ones). i need to add a few wiki pages as well (every control/whatever should have a wiki page describing its functionality, basically a help page)

JavaWiz, your efforts have sure been appreciated. I too think it's good to have a 'meeting of the minds'. I've gotten the SVN share set up on my box, and will be looking at the code to play with some stuff.

Not yet but it was on my todo list. If no one else has it already, I can take a stab at it

just needs to take an ordinary image and make a reflection that fades out.
