with patch, playback of .ts via streaming mode is perfect.

change channel and it barfs.

What is your TV source?

I tried with two separate channels (720p and 1080i). Playback of recorded HD ts seems to be fine with the exception of no audio most of the time. The audio disappears the moment there is a frame freeze, or some other artifact with the video.

The same behavior is exhibited with pending, and finished recordings.

This is great progress, I hope this works with LiveTV and audio comes through correctly.

Logs attached.

Get playback of .ts recordings working in streaming mode was the primary goal of this patch. It'll also provide the a first required step towards getting .ts working for live tv too, but I havnt tested that aspect of it yet. A huge amount of time was already involved to get as far as that patch provides. This stuff isnt easy. Hopefully I'll have more time of focus on live tv too soon.

I know you said you don't use client PC's much, but your time is much appreciated sub, certainly here, where client PC's get used a fair bit.

thanks.

I second that sentiment in it's entirety.

As an update on my testing. It does playback .ts fine, but had real issues with skipping and fast forward.

I also really appreciate the hard work you are putting in on this, especially since you don't use this.

I have been testing other options including XBMC and MediaPortal to solve my client situation. I have found MediaPortal 1.0 to be an excellent option for streaming liveTV for both digital and analog material even on wireless networks (I have not tested other aspects of it). I also found XBMC to be a super good looking option for playback of movies and recordings especially with recent support for external players.

I am still using GBPPVR on the main system through. I could not make MediaPortal TV server component coexist with GBPVR recordings service, they cause each other problems. So I am sticking with GBPVR for the moment, and using XBMC for playback on the client for everything. LiveTV streaming is still up in the air for me now.

I thought I would share my experience with everyone.

hi sub, all,

i finally setup my HD client with the information provided in this thread.

I'm able to get analog live and recordings working.
I'm able to get digital recordings working
I'm able to get digital live tv working only for certain channels. However, even on these channels, after some 20+ minutes of watching, I get a c++ error and ahve to close GBPVR.
On the channels that are not working, and I think it is because these are 1080i, the video/audio stutters.

I was just wondering if any update has been made to tsreader to get digital livetv working over streaming....

Or, is there a way of making analog work over file-sharing?

I'll get getting my hd-pvr soon and was wondering if all the channels will be considered digital or analog when i watch live and recorded from this capture device.

Thanks.

Sorry, there has been no updates on either of these fronts.

From an application perspective, it looks like a digital device.
