If it doesn't come back to the NMT screen at all, I'd suggest running NMTInstall again and untick everything except Install Client and Write PCH Scripts.

No doubt using the wrong firmware will cause of lot of unnecessary frustration. We will get there.

After you waited the thirty seconds of black screen, can you telnet to your NMT?

First, I appreciate all the help I really do. Smile Second, the firmware issue is defiantly a bugger because I tried to eliminate that problem at the outset by upgrading. I didn't realize that it wouldn't do a full upgrade. I really recommend adding this to the guide (update until it won't let you anymore....) to avoid this problem in the future.

I triggered the whole sequence again and yes I am able to telnet in after it goes to the screen of death. By the way....there is always something that flashes in the upper left hand corner as soon as I choose gbpvr and it starts to load. It flashes so fast I can't read it though.

I do mention that that date must be 080808 or newer, I will add another note to confirm after the firmware update.

It's good that telnet is working. From telnet when you issue

/etc/mvpmc/mvpmcx2

What do you get?

Of course you said you deleted everything. Run NMTInstall and untick everything but Install mvpmcx2

Closer yet. I when I chose it it flickers and tries to get it started but then it flips back to the NMT screen. Probably takes 10 seconds max.
