hoborg Wrote:Well there is no need to use DX10 (i think you mean these special version on DX) on WinXP to get DXVA working (h.264 HD too) - nothink will be used from this software. All will work just fine using *unlocked* SAF and use WMR9 FSE - no need to "update"
to Vista/Win7. MY HTPC is WinXP based and all is working great.

You will have MPEG-2 and h.264 aceleration if you use good GPU ATI 4550 for example, i have it too.

Not sure about AGP GPU (if it is capable of DXVA), i known there is lot of problem with them these days, drivers needs to be patched, etc...

Is it still True that SAF does not support subtitles?

? SAF support them from first Release (using DirectVob Sub). Only problem is if you use them, you will loose DXVA (if video have subtitles). Full subtitle support + DXVA must be done on GB-PVR side (like MPC-HC subtitle engine).

Ah. That was what I was afraid of.

You see, in the nordic countrys we do not dub tv-programs (well, a few, for children that can't read yet), we always subtitle so using SAF would mean ruining all HD-broadcasts.
