It doesn´t say anything when i change channel or try to watch an encrypted channel. Everything is written when I start newcs and nothing after that.

Below is all Newcs says and then all ACamd. It is only Acamd that is reacting on channel shift.

There is obviously something wrong in your cardclient.conf, so Acamd never connects to NewCS. Can you post your cardclient.conf?

Hello, I just set up the mdplugin config myself, at had some troubles.
But running nextpvr as a user process (not as service) solved the communication part. I guess one need to run nextpvr service with a user setup and click that setting that lets it talk to the user desktop. Look for it in the services settings.
EDIT: The above in italics was not true. It worked fine with the service process also as it seems...

I use newcs 1.65 and acamd 0.6.1.8.. The contents of the acamd-distro should go in the mdplugin folder that was created for you by npvr. And from there two files needs to be adjusted. The settings for use with Boxer in Sweden is:

ACamd_PMT.txt:
# Boxer
#P:0500:00023208:caid
P:0500:00020500:caid

Note that I changed the provider id! The 23208 seems no longer working...

cardclient.conf:

There is also a link to a working version of ffdecsa.dll in this blog. It's in swedish but just search for ffdecsa.dll and you will find the link there.
Works nicely.

Hope this helps...

Do I have to "restart" acamd to get the first messages?

That's strange, the only difference I can see is that mine has a mask of "FF00" where yours has "FFFF". I can't see why Acamd should complain about an error in the file thou.
You will have to start AcamdMonitor first and then launch NextPVR in order to catch all Acamd activity.

Edit: Is NextPVR.exe allowed through the firewall? And Nrecord.exe?

I can add to my "guide" above that my testing was done with firewall off. The firewall need to be set up right if enabled (and it should be!)

Turning off the firewall made a big difference. But now I got an other error and no decrypted picture.

Acamd monitor says:

Back to the error message about cardclient.conf, what exactly doer line 56 say? And the two lines surrounding it (ie 55 and 57)?

Yes, it seems the error is in the cardclient.conf, as RedDwarf points out and has already been found by the logs:
Quote:20:47:22.602: init of cardclient 'newcamd' failed
20:47:22.602: file C:\Users\Public\NPVR\MDPlugins\EC168 BDA Digital Tuner #1-1\cardclient.conf has error in line #56
That needs to be corrected.

Secondly. In my own findings about how to get this to work I found that the Provider id in ACamd_PMT.txt needs to be set differently depending on the version of Acamd. Both of these are for Boxer.

Acamd 6.0.3
P:0500:00023208:caid

Acamd 6.1.8:
P:0500:00020500:caid

I haven't found any info on the net regarding this or confirming it for acamd 6.1.8. I did some trial and errors and came up with P:0500:00020500:caid. All other combinations failed....

Also. One need to create as many instances (from the settings/Device dialog) as one expects N-PVR to use as a maximum from the multirecord handling. N-PVR does not seem to stop by itself if all instances are used up, instead it tries to share one instance with multirecording. It does not work with acamd. I created 3 instances per tuner (I have 3 tuners) making a total of 9 instances.
Each instance need to specify a specific user in cardclient.conf, and there needs to be a corresponding <user></user> tag in newcs.xml under newcamd. I.e. there has to be nine user tags in newcs.xml for this setup. After I finally had that done everything seems to work perfectly. I run acamd 6.1.8 with preferred Provider ID 20500.

@Barsk: How do you find the Provider ID in the stream? I'v managed to get everything working smooth with my cable provider, but I'm struggeling with DVB-T decrypting.
