Give this a go. I think it'll fix it.

Excellent, that indeed seems to have fixed it. Now to get the client NPVR installed and working. Then retire GBPVR.

Hasso

Its working here on the AC3 recordings I have. If you want to let me know where to download one of your sample recordings, I'll check it out here.

Will a sample work? As I've written before that this is a live tv only problem, which is I why I thought PreferAC3 would help. Recordings work fine.

That patch was specifically about hasso's problem with recordings, which is why I thought you were talking about recordings.

Sorry I thought it was about setting AC3 as the default using the registry.

Finally I have AC3 working as expected! Two thumbs up! Big Grin

I have been trying to get AC3 to be the default audio stream for years and always ended up with different scenarios depending on the preferAC3 register setting and if it was on live or recordings. Sometimes it worked sometimes it hanged, Sometimes instantly, sometimes it hanged after about 60 secs of playback. It was really hard to figure out what to actually report as a bug report as there was no "pattern" easily found. I've spent hours on hours to try to figure out how to get it to work with different decoders etc.

There are still problems when selecting AC3 audio from the menus though. It hangs instantly. And I will provide a recording to Sub if it helps iron that bug out.

But when using preferAC3=1 it works perfectly. I am using the LAV filters with bitreaming option on, and it seems to work flawlessly, selecting the proper 2-channel AC3 or 5.1-channel AC3 configs automatically as I move from show to show with different audio setup. On live or recordings it works equaly well. It has never worked as well as this and I am truely happy indeed. As said, two thumbs up with a smile! Big Grin
