Unable to setup NPVR with Hauppauge PVR-150

@ron7 - sorry, it seems another of your threads has gone off on a bit of a tangent. it seems we left off with you trying to add a channel to your analog tuner and getting a .net exception. I tried adding exactly the same channel on mine and it worked fine. You should give the channel a real name though, not just "1".

However, why are you trying to add a channel manually? Do you have an EPG source? If so, instead of adding a channel by hand just hit the Import button and import your channels.

I am using a cablebox. It is connected to the PVR-150 via a composite cable.
I do not want to use EPG or any channels. I change the cannels directly in the cable box.
I want to record the program that I watch on the TV. The TV is connected to the same cable box.
When I use Microsoft Media Center, I can see the TV program on my PC via the PVR-150. It works, but records programs in their special format that I do not like.
There is no point to import the channels. The PVR-150 can only see the channel that the cable box sends (to the TV and to the PVR-150).
The fact is that right now I cannot see anything in NPVR.

Any advice?

You are aware that you can connect a "blaster" to the pc (an IR-transmitter that changes channel on the box for you) and let npvr control the box? That's the main reason for using epg with a STB.

I know that I can connect the IR-transmitter. The PVR-150 came with it.
The EPG here is not that reliable, and some channels are missing.
But I am not looking for that. I am looking for a simple VCR: I will start and stop the recording.

Personnally I think you've probably picked the wrong type of application for how you're hoping to use it, since the majority of NPVR is build around EPG etc, season recordings, tv guide, recordings screen etc. You should still be able to do what you want in NPVR, but a simple app like WinTV is probably better suited to your needs.

Can you post a screenshot of exactly is on the 'Add Channel' popup before you press the 'ok' button to try manually creating your single channel?

Sorry - missed the screenshot in the previous post. The problem is your 'country' setting on that screen. Just pick a country and your problem will go away. 'Analog Tuner' and a couple of other options werent supposed to be in that list, and unfortunately you've got one of these selected.

If Israel isnt there, then just choose another PAL country and then you'll be able to create your channel.

I've removed these extract invalid options for the next release.

I did that and was able to set it up without the error.
However, I still cannot see the TV. I can hear it but cannot see it.
checked the log file and saw that it had a problem with the MPEG decoder.
I searched the forum and found that I need to re-install the decoder.
I installed the latest k-lite cdec pack.
The log file now does not show the decoder error.
But I still do not see the TV.
Please look into the attached logs if you can see the prblem.

Try downloading and installing CCCP (Combined Community Codec Pack).
