Forum problems?

Thats Odd - I have just had to log in to view the forum - as I presume everybody has to at present but

There are currently 44 users online. 11 members and 33 guests

how are these guests gaining access?

I asked myself that exact same question & the answer I came up with is I think you will find they are just sitting on the front page that is telling them they have to log on to view the forums.

I've spent most of the last two days trying to find the cause, but I've been unable to so far. Painful...

You do enough supporting your software - annoying (to say the least) that you have to deal with vandals as well.

I figure a logged in user turns into a guest after the inactivity period.

Most users ever online was 236, Yesterday at 07:11 PM.

This worries me a little, since it was after the guest access was disabled. Was anyone about at the time this jumped up to 236, and noticed the problem happening again?

I think I was on for a bit around that time (10:11pm my time), and noticed no issues.

Since that count includes guests sitting at the login screen, it was probably just a bunch of bots unable to do anything.

You could be right. I'll just leave guest access disabled for now. I have put a not on the screen to let people 'guest access has been temporarily disabled due to hacking attempts'.
