Some issues with Install

1) Navigation is tad slow..... does DirectX have anything to do with this, or is this just a function of the A110s processor. My DirectX is not functioning with the native NPVR GUI....just want to make sure that isn't a contributer here....didn't think so.

No, it wont be anything to do with DirectX.

3) My TV is Extended Definition, slight less than 720p --- should I set it to 1080p anyways (on PCH and mvpmcx2?), and let the TV downconvert it. Or should I just leave everything at 720p as that is closer to my viewing resolution? I know you mentioned things look better at 1080p...but my TV is not capable of that.

Set it for 720p. Things will respond quicker.

Thanks sub and jaggy......this is pretty awesome stuff.....I was particularly surprised when I was watching Live HD TV through this interface...... I didn't even expect that to work through the Atom330 system Not a hiccup -- it works great!

Martin....I can stream a MPEG2 1080p 32Mbps movie THAT I COULDNT EVEN PLAY WITH LOCAL USB DRIVES ON THE A110!!! I am not kidding you.... Now I am streaming over HTTP without a hiccup!! Man.....Jaggy..why didn't you tell me how awesome this code was!

The ONLY issue I think I am having is an extreme lag in navigating.......if I don't move slow...I can scroll/click ahead way past where I am trying to get to.
But.......I am not complaining... I need to work on the ISO/Video_TS issue..and how to do that next.. That way I don't have to get my family to change interfaces ever.

I have another PCH I need to configure this for. Can I simply add the share to my 2nd PCH A110 -- or do I need to do a NMTinstall2 again, against that A110 bridge MAC address?

Set it for 720p. Things will respond quicker.

Actually 1080i/p are best with the OSD over video but make sure you keep config.xml at 1280x720

Whenever I have got slow lagging navigation it has always been something up with my network causing it. It may be worth (if practical) hooking it up direct to the server to see what it's like then.

I can't help you with this one as I have no idea how you set it up with a bridge in place...sorry.

There is no typeahead so you do have to get used to feel and momentary pauses Scrolling by line is slow but paging is typically faster then with the NMT UI. There are several hotkeys that navigate between screens and also in libraries you can use number keys to move by percentage.

Compress and your logs too just in case I've forgotten something. In the worst case if wifi is getting in the way, we can try reducing the resolution.

Just edit config.xml and set up the share on the PCH. The hard part is done..

Thanks, quickly edited an entry in the config.xml...and 2nd NMT was working in a few minutes. This one I set for 1920X1280 to match NMT/TV.

My basis for comparison of speed is navigating NMT over the text interface.... I know there has to be overhead for the graphical one....so I expect this is the difference I am seeing.

The view with the text on the left and box on the right is the one I am using and seems fastest. I do not have any artwork to display. The problem is that I have some filenames that are long, and I cannot see enough of the filename to know which it is. It gets truncated by the large box that is wasted space for me. Anyway to modify this so it use more of the screen to display the filename?

I don't use metadata so I also prefer more space for filename but you will probably have to play with the skin to adjust it to your liking.

I personally use the Mayhem skin http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...kin-Mayhem mainly for this. It might be a bit slower because it use more background art than NPVR's Default.
