bigd Wrote:ok some progress but not there yet.
I was able to edit the analog sevices folder to show my device with the proper filters.
i was also able to load the channel and program guide. however when i try to watch live tv...wanted to test to be sure it was seeing my card, i get the following error. see pic . any other ideas? i hate to give up at this point.
thank you.

I would say a lot of progress Big Grin I would also hate to see you give up at this point when you have got so far. Now you have got this close I would suggest putting your log files in a .zip file and posting those. Someone may spot what has happened for you not having this working.

Some info about the log files can be found here

cheers

Hello again!

I have attached my nPVR log to this post and it looks like it is looking for an operating system which is Windows 2000 SP 3or later. I have the "later" Win XP Svc. Pk 3. Not too sure what to make of it. The error is shown during the first third of the report with "Start LIVE TV". Any and all feedback much appreciated! Thanks again.

is it possible that my drivers are too old. they are dated 2003! ati does have an update but i wondered if that might really help the issue. i didn't want to mess with a driver update on this unless i had to as the last time i did (years ago) it caused some issues resulting in a reinstall of the old drivers and software.
Thank you.

The strange message you got may very well be caused by outdated drivers. You should definitly update the drivers.

Possibly, 'while the hood is up' Big Grin Depends on how much of a fan you are for Windows Updates and whether you have them on automatic? If not may be worth doing a custom scan from Windows Update site to see if you could do with updating anything.

If you mean any ideas on trying with Windows 7 then no, try it Big Grin

As for XP, it would seem that 'generally' people may appear to have a slightly better experience with NextPVR and Windows 7 than XP but personally AFAIR I have not read of anyone NOT getting NextPVR working with XP.

My sense of smell tells me that this really is not a NextPVR problem you have here but something rotten with your XP set up. It may well be this is just the ATI drivers causing the issue, but I am by any means an expert

what is the 'TV stream' that has been killed by the ATI software update? Presumably these are now AMD (ATI) drivers you are using? Catalyst drivers?

Your best bet may well be to try a Windows 7 installation, once you get NextPVR working you will, I promise, really like it Wink
