OK so
I have my server doing the comskip stuff thats where the above comskip.ini came from
now i read that you can run a addon on in xbmc (I dont think i need to as i already have a edl file)
If I add The setting edl_skip_field=3 to my server comskip.ini

will this fix my edl file to become a skip rather than a cut
at the moment the last number is zero not a 3

I bought two B models quite awhile back. I was quite impressed with the device itself, but I never got it working in any way satisfactory as a NextPVR client. Sounds like the software has improved, must be time to give them another try.

This weeks observations Smile

I have found that having iptv running that the reliability takes a hit and so does the speed of the raspberry PI (going through menus, and lock ups i never got them before iptv)
So i will stick to x-newa and leave live tv disabled (Subs app has all the update stuff running in background also haven't really tested as i like x-newa as it looks and acts like npvr on a pc)

So if you want speed and reliability less is much better

Changed to xbian for testing

Wifi works better(as in all dongles connect open elec I had to use powered usb Hub)
Can easily change over clocking from xbian menu in system settings
Once put in turbo mode the thing is very responsive online content seems to load faster(have not tried open elec in turbo mode yet)
X-newa was great in open elec so its no different

Hi stustunz,

have been following this thread for ages. Given the demise of Raspbmc @ Gotham.

xbian looks really good when loaded but can't seem to get through installation upgrade hurdles unless I am a linux guru. And the xbian forum looks pretty dead to me? Unless you are a linux guru?

Any good points and hinters? Or you being good at Linux it all just came together?

cheers

steeb

demise? how so? there was a big update just last month. or are you just referring to XBMC becoming Kodi and Raspbmc becoming OSMC?
