I had the same problem as the OP; was using mc2xml and guide data ran out. I donated to the mc2xml author to get the updated version that supports microsoft's new format, and remapped, and all is working again with mc2xml. The channel names are different and so everything had to be remapped.

Before this, I also had to remap every few months but worked around that, and posted the solution in this forum. The problem stemmed from the fact that the channel ID used to change as channels were added or subtracted from the guide lineup. Not sure if that problem still exists with the new mc2xml guide source, but the workaround I posted should still be viable solution. see this thread, solution is post 18:

Note you might have to change the fix script slightly for the new guide channel ID format, if it's even needed.

Hi guys... I am attempting to set up zap2xml. I added in my username and password but it is not creating a file. The application runs so fast and closes and I cannot see where the issue is. Does anyone have a working pl file that I can see?

Run it from a command prompt, so you can see the output after the process terminates. Hopefully that'll give you some useful messages.

Here is an example of UpdateEPG.bat

This will create C:\Users\Public\NPVR\EPG\UpdateEPG.log when it start and append standard output as well as standard error to the log.

I have got to be doing something wrong... I am running Win 7. When I download the windows file it only installs the exe file. Is there something else supposed to be there where it pulls my parameters from?

You need to setup and account at http://tvschedule.zap2it.com and setup your Favorite Channels in your preferences.

Then you edit the Public\NPVR\Scripts\UpdateEPG.bat according to your system.

In my case a create Public\NPVR\Epg, place zap2xml.exe in it. And that is were the xml file will be placed
