Recordings not showing in Raspberry Pi unless rebooted

Ive been using rpi for ages now never had one corupted card.

Have you tried the x-newa addon.it works great.

I'd echo what stustunz & JavaWiz have said. When you reboot your Pi, are you properly shutting it down (and waiting for it completely halt) from the operating system or are you just unplugging the power cord? As long as you are shutting it down, you should not be getting SD card corruption.

Also, using X-NEWA on the RPi is a great way to go. I use it almost exclusively and for us that includes several hours of recording and playing each day.

I have 3 different rpis all are just turned off by the usb power have backup copies on sd cards incase they get corupted but havent used them yet :-)
Maybe im just lucky haha

I too have a number of Pi's floating around the house. Most are being used for other projects, and most have low end cards. These particular pi's just work and I never had a problem. When I started working on the media center project, I decided to go with hi end SD class 10 cards. The cards may be the cause of the corruption, but I'm not sold that its the card that it the issue. And, I do know how to properly shutdown a system.

I switched to OSMC over the weekend. I did several test recordings and they all showed up just fine. I rebooted the pi's several times, and they all came back with no issues. However, I did have one upgrade fail on me and caused me to rebuild the pi, but other than that, I think that I'll stick with OSMC.

I don't know what x-newa is. I have not heard of it until this posting. What is it and what will it do for me?

I've read that the author of x-newa is an asshole so you probably aren't interested.
