Have you tried the x-newa addon.it works great.
I'd echo what stustunz & JavaWiz have said. When you reboot your Pi, are you properly shutting it down (and waiting for it completely halt) from the operating system or are you just unplugging the power cord? As long as you are shutting it down, you should not be getting SD card corruption.
Also, using X-NEWA on the RPi is a great way to go. I use it almost exclusively and for us that includes several hours of recording and playing each day.
