What is streaming profile for in V5?

I tried yesterday's Kodi 19 Nightly on my Windows 10 Pro 1909...64 bit both OS and Kodi.

I run in portable mode to avoid conflict with version 18. Install again to a new location and try starting

kodi.exe -p

It's also good to use 7zip and unpack it on your desktop
"don't change package name until shortcut"
go to the unpacked kodi, find kodi.exe, right click on it and create a shortcut

now right click on the kodi shortcut and edit
add -p at the end of the line

C: \ Users \ you \ Desktop \ kodi-18.5xperience \ kodi.exe -p

save and leave, now you can rename the package and move it anywhere


If anyone would like to try it on android, I also have a version compiled with a different package name
Not interfering with the original application, you can use two on one device

Thanks @Paulo, I managed to run it, it was crashing because I had left the old 18.5 addons folder. I did a clean installation and now 19 works.

@mvallevand, where should I now change the transcoding settings? Kodi 19 on Windows comes with nextpvr addon 4.2.0. Is that the one with the changes or shall you submit a newer version?

@aderlopas here are the initial builds of this https://jenkins.kodi.tv/blue/organizatio.../artifacts it is very much work in progress. 32 bit Windows did not build because of build system issues. You will update from zip.

Note there are some interesting transcoding changes coming in the next release of NextPVR.

I tried to update the addon however, I got the below error in Kodi when trying to install the zip:

2020-01-18 16:46:59.800 T:19088 ERROR: CAddonInfoBuilder::ADDON::CAddonInfoBuilder:arseXML: addon.xml from 'pvr.nextpvr' for binary type 'xbmc.pvrclient' doesn't contain library and addon becomes ignored

Any ideas how to resolve?

OK, it updated fine now to 4.3.0....
But no extra options for transcoding...am I missing anything?

Did you toggle through the available 'Live TV Stream' options? Transcoded is one of the options.
