General codec, video standards questions...

Well, I'm not having problems, just reporting to jcromes what I see with his video. I have not had any problems at all keeping it all on my one partition, and in fact, will set up my second drive as a raid 0 which will be faster than two seperate drives.

Will definitely check out the Omega driver for the Radeon. I'm not sure it will help, but I'm up for a little experimentation anyway... =)

Right now, I'm happy with DScaler, I'm just surprised that the Intervideo codec is so crappy for me. I'll see if i can diagnose it and will report back if i find anything interesting.

Nope, the omega drivers did nothing.
Well, anyway, like I said, I'm happy for the moment to continue using my current setup, just surprised to see how widely quality varies between decoders. With MPEG4, you have a few choices, but all of them are reasonable.

MPEG2 seems to be hit or miss and the only ones that really work well are either still in development or require $$$.
