V5 install failure

I am having an issue just like this. However mine is with a fresh install on a Win 10 PC. I am able to download NPVRSetup.exe and when it runs it starts the Download then says in installs but never finishes.

Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Thank you, but no that did not seem to help. It just seems to lock up at the beginning of the install.

Ok if you have a C:\Temp could you zip and upload the file install.txt from it. If not could you make C:\Temp and repeat the install and then upload the zip.

As you can see it does not go beyond Installing Files

Since it didn't unzip I am going to assume, you aren't using the correct version of the installer and are using a cached version and didn't follow sub's suggesion on how to download it.

If you want to avoid the browser cache just

curl https://nextpvr.com/NPVRSetup.exe -O

I hate to say it, but I did follow his instructions, and used his URL to his "Fixed Link" That did not work and I get the same result with the link that you provided.

I also tried install this https://aka.ms/vs/16/release/VC_redist.x86.exe thinking maybe I was missing something.


And I even tried this https://nextpvr.com/stable/win64/NPVR.zip and unzip it into "C:\Program Files\NextPVR" as admin the installer will give the zip error but continue to do the install.

I have to admit that one almost worked. It is not very stable....

Just not sure what to try next...

Another user had issues with their firewall/antivirus software getting in the way of the install. Maybe this could be a factor for you setup?

Stability is not install upload your zipped logs and we can check further.
