Actually - yeah, you're using DVB-C, so 60 frequencies can happen. I was thinking more like DVB-T with my comment above.

There was some functionality in NextPVR v4, which I haven't yet added to v5, which helped some users with long EPG update times. Some DVB broadcasters send the tv listings for all channels on a specific frequency, and other frequencies aren't really needed. NextPVR v4 has a function which would show you the list of frequencies used for the EPG update, defaulting to all the frequencies enabled, but allowing the users to disable some frequencies in the EPG update. This feature will make a return at some stage. I'm not sure whether it's applicable to your broadcaster though.

Hello,

tonight the update failed completly. The PC is now running for a few days, without reboot. Only standby / wakeup.

I am very sure, that as soon as i reboot the PC, it will work again. Like it was, all the time.

If i now manuel start an EPG update, is does nothing after a few secondes i get the message, the update completed, and nothing is done. See attached screenshot. So NPVR simply cannot connect to the mux anymore, to grab the data.

The strange thing is, that recordings and live TV still work, only grabbing the EPG does not work anymore.

I just did a test: I did not restart the PC, i only restartet the NPVR service.

Now the manual EPG update works again. So it is not the BDA driver, or windows that has a problem, the NPVR service seams to have the problem.

The logs are showing 'Digital Devices DVB-C Tuner 8' being used for the EPG updates. It was started on 2020-05-05, and ran fine for a few days, but failed on the EPG update on the 8th, then 9th. It's not clear why it stopped working.

These are likely using a different tuner, which was still working.

I might try adding some extra clean up after waking from standby. I suspect it's related to NextPVR hanging onto a tuner that was later put to sleep, and then woken. I'll try releasing the tuner after standby, so that the next usage is from fresh.

Great, looking forward to that!

Now i just saw something new: After restarting the NPVR service, the manual EPG update worked, but: The PC did go in standby even though the update was still running...... so the standby prevention seem to only work if the PC is woke up for the EPG update, but not when running it manual.
