Turned out a change on my system somewhere (haven't tracked it down yet)
has made using the screen resolution of 3840x2160 display a Video/Audio delay.
Solved by changing screen resolution to 1920x1080.
UPDATE
I have found the culprit and the culprit was ME. In an effort to improve things I'd tried some changes to the BIOS. However, the opposite happened
and things stopped working. So, I set the BIOS back to factory defaults. The problems I'd introduced went away. However, The factory default for the
CPU power level is 6 Watts far too low. Setting it to AUTO means I can now use 3840x2160 resolution again!
