Sub says he is going to fix the internals which should be good enough but if you want to see what Kodi is seeing run

http://localhost:8866/service?method=channel.list

If it shows icon=true you may need to remove the cached icon in Kodi.

In case it's helpful to you or sub, here is what I get when I run http://localhost:8866/service?method=channel.list.  I've highlighted KDFW-DT in blue and MeTV in magenta.  KDFW-DT displays correctly in Kodi, NextPVR web app, and the NextPVR desktop app.  MeTV does not display in Kodi or the NextPVR web app, but it does display correctly in the NextPVR desktop app.

Based on your post, since MeTV does not show icon=true (it does for KDFW-DT), then there is nothing to gain by removing the cached icon in Kodi.  (I'm guessing there is no cached icon in Kodi for this channel.)

Hello again,

I just upgraded to version 5.1.1.210329.  Several channel icons, for which there are correctly-named files in the C:\Users\Public\NPVR-data\media\channels folder, are not showing up in the NPVR web app or in OSMC, but are showing in the desktop app and Kodi running in the Windows 10 machine running NPVR.  I downloaded channel icons from SD and cleared the channel icon cache in Kodi and OSMC.  Here is related data on three of those channels obtained by running http://localhost:8866/service?method=channel.list:

7360 BUZZR 27 3 27.3 0x1 Freq:27 SID:5 (MPEG-2) true
7397 DABL 11 3 11.3 0x1 Freq:19 SID:3 (MPEG-2) true
7354 MeTV 21 2 21.2 0x1 Freq:18 SID:2 (MPEG-2) true

Icons for these channels show up on the NPVR desktop app and in Kodi running on the same Windows machine that is running NPVR, but none of them show up on NPVR's web app or on OSMC, even after clearing the cache (in OSMC) and refreshing the page (for the web app).  For completeness, these are not the only channels with this problem.

As always, I appreciate your support and look forward to any assistance.

Kodi on the Windows machine and on OSMC would use the same file. If you are going to paste the output, paste the output from the source that includes the xml.

You would also need to rescan to get the proper channel names.

For further support I require logs.

Fair enough.  I found it curious that the same file produces the correct logo on the Windows machine but does not make it to the OSMC machine.  That's why I mentioned it.  But, to your point, let's forget about the OSMC machine right now and focus on the Windows one.  The logos show up properly in NPVR's desktop app but not in the web app.  How do we diagnose that problem?

Quote:If you are going to paste the output, paste the output from the source that includes the xml.

The "output"  I posted was an excerpt from the screen of output generated by navigating to http://localhost:8866/service?method=channel.list. There is no associated xml that I know of.

Quote:You would also need to rescan to get the proper channel names.

Why would the channel names be "proper" (evidently) for the desktop app and for Kodi running on the Windows machine, but somehow not on the other two "devices"?  I want to avoid re-scanning if possible.

Logs attached.

Just a user here, but my experience suggests, to me, that there is something amiss in the way that channel icon related data is transferred to networked devices.

Thank you.

The apps use different logic and I suspect you didn't rescan to correct the problem.

Many of the lines in the logs like this show trailing spaces logged.

I decided to go ahead and re-scan.  I've been at it for several hours now, and I'm not figuring out how to do it properly.  I have 6 devices.  It used to be that, if I scanned 1, then I could "copy" the channels scanned from that device to all the others.  I can't figure out how to do that with v5.  I'll dig around some more to figure out what I'm doing wrong.

If anyone can point me to the correct way of doing this in v5, I'd sure appreciate it.

This is why I wanted to avoid rescanning.  Thanks for any help.

Never mind.  The copy function is working now.  Evidently you have to delete all channels and start over for this function to work.

Hello again,

I am happy to report that re-scanning solved the problem with missing channel icons.  All available channel icons are now appearing correctly in all "devices":  desktop app, web app, and Kodi, both local and network (OSMC).

Re-scanning turned out to be a lot of work -- as I had feared -- for a couple reasons.  First, I discovered that I needed to delete all existing channels to clean up channel names.  Second, once I did that, all of my scheduled recordings were deleted and I had to reschedule them.  In the process of doing so, I discovered that NextPVR associated the DVB/ATSC EPG source to all channels by default.  I wanted Schedules Direct to be the default EPG source, and the only way I could figure out to do that was to go through each channel, click the little wrench, change the source to Schedules Direct, and change the mapping to the correct file.  Since I have about 80 local channels, that took awhile.

I'll ask the question here even though it's slightly off topic:  How does one specify Schedules Direct as the default EPG source, or, failing that, how does one map Schedules Direct as the channel source for a large group of channels?  If the answer is Auto Map or Auto Merge, be advised that I tried that several times without success.

Again, I do appreciate any help.

Regards.

Automap but use Numbers and Identifiers and make sure your SD source is the OTA source for your zip code and not cable.
