Recent streaming issue with Matt Huisman Aus TV streams

Updated the config and rebooted (to be sure NextPVR restarts and reads the new value). It doesn't help; the stream still stops at around 1 minute. On the up side, it doesn't affect any of the 9 network streams, they all still work fine.

Anything else I could try, or would this require a code fix to store the session cookie?

I'm surprised no one else has seen this; I would expect lots of people are using Matt's links to record Australian TV on NextPVR, but maybe not

Just to add my 5c to the issue - I don't see this happening on my CH7 feeds.

I use different links from a different source (if you do a curl on Matt's feeds you'll see the yospace.com URL which is in the post above).

I use my 7 feed from the Google Docs document in https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2586189

This hasn't been updated for a while so a few other things have changed. I am seeing issues now with SBS not working in NextPVR after the move to dai.google which I posted about elsewhere, but my 9 and 10 feeds all work fine.

OK, thanks. I'll try to switch feed, at least for channel 7 to see if it helps. I don't see any EPG in this link, are you using the EPG from Matt's link?

My SBS feed (from Matt) has also been down for about a week now, but I put the SBS issue down to a VPN block. This occasionally happens for a short period, some channel discovers the VPN and blocks it, someone reports the issue to the VPN provider, and they switch up IPs or make some other mis-direction change to get around it, and we're back in business.

My Nine feed is also down right now, I guess the Australian channels are in VPN block mode, which happens sometimes, but they usually give up fairly quickly, they don't have as much time and resources for this as the VPN providers, who make much of their income from making these things work.

I use xmltv.net as my Australian EPG

VPNs being blocked is a really common problem and I personally don't know why people use VPNs for streaming when smart DNS services are far simpler and typically deliver a far superior solution.

Nine is working fine for me but SBS had old URL's (listed in the link I gave) that stopped working recently as they changed video platforms to allow for server side ad insertion now that SBS play ads. The new HLS feeds work fine in VLC but NextPVR doesn't like them and just keeps looping a ~5s segment.

My VPN provider doesn't provide a DNS server for Australia, just a VPN, and I use the same VPN for at least 3 other countries, some of which I actually need to encrypt traffic for. I don't want to pay another service fee just to get a DNS for Australia. VPN has not been an issue for me, apart from when it gets blocked. Usually the streaming channels can also spot and block DNS servers, so apart from overhead of encryption, I'm not sure it helps much, my connection is always plenty fast enough when it works. If you know of a cheap (or free) DNS that works with Aussie channels, I'll give it a try.

I'm using a Melbourne VPN right now, but I have a choice of 7 Australia locations, so maybe it's time to switch to see if I can unblock Nine.

I'm also going to play with some of the other Strems in that list on Whirlpool so see if that helps.

Lots of the other streams on that list are now dead - it used to get updated pretty regularly but people like Matt have made it obsolete.

Switching out 7 for the link on Whirlpool fixed the problem. Since they all link back to the same stream, I'm left wondering why that link works and Matt's one doesn't

I think I may know. Those links are really old, and the Seven stream is still the old 504p stream and not the new 720p stream. I suspect the 504p stream is still using a format that works with NextPVR.

Well, at least a low quality stream is better then none at all

The dns4me pricing is actually really good, especially if you pay for a year up front. I might give the 7-day trial a try, if nothing else, it will free up one of my VPN slots (I'm limited to 5 simultaneous, and I run out quite frequently)

If you have a 9 feed URL that is working currently, that would be really handy, thanks, I still can't get 9 to work.
