When I manually ran the file:
ComskipHelper.exe > ComskipHelper.log

I saved the comskiphelper.zip (unzipped files under )C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\
both comskiphelper.exe & ComSkipHelper.cs are all under this directory....not in D:\

the log file gave me the following.....

What am I missing?

This is happening when ComskipHelper is trying to launch the Comskip.exe process. You need the acutual Comskip utility in your GBPVR root folder as well. There's a link to download it on the WiKi at Comskip.

Thanks for translations, it would have been difficult without them. Smile

So, what would my Postprocessing.bat look like then?

Do I just use the comskiphelper.exe?
Or do I still need to use both comskiphelper.exe & comski.exe in my .bat file?

You only need the comskiphelper line in the postprocessing.bat. But comskip.exe and its files also need to be present in the GBPVR directory.
To test it, you can just double click on the comskiphelper program, and watch it go through the files in the database.

Great, it doesn't sound hard at all, I will test that once I go home tonight ^_^

BTW, when you say "go thru the files in the db....",

what happens if I've MANUALLY renamed and moved the files already? how do I go about it....... which table in the database do I modify?
I've been changing my destination directories and moving my .mpg files as well...e.g. sometimes in c:\GBPVRRecording\ and sometimes under d:\GBPVRRecording\ and sometimes g:\GBPVRRecording\.....
What table do I modify?

If that is all you did, GBPVR probably deleted the entries in it's database for them already. It will delete any entries for files that don't exist anymore.

Wow! I'd be surprised if anything to do with the logs affects ComSkip. That would be unfortunate. Glad its working for you. I wish I had more time to work on this stuff, but with 3 children under the age of 3, its hard to find extra time.

I have 3, but they are 14,11,and 6. I loved their younger days, but I don't miss the lack of sleep!
I haven't checked up on the comskip helper at all, it is working fine since I started using it. It will come in handy, if I ever change settings, and want to run through them again.

Well, I have good news on this front. The new version of GBPVR will run a BAT file when recording status changes. I was working on a service that would poll GBPVR and start comskip on in progress recordings, but now that is not necessary. I'm going to put the work on the service into ComSkipHelper. Basically, each bat file should start ComSkipHelper up and it will ComSkip anything that needs it. This is gonna be cool.

I'm glad the Comskip settings work. I had about 6 months to tweak them with SageTV and like I said before, they worked very well for me. I notice the settings don't work as well for news programs as they do for programs like Stargate SG-1. Probably due to the amount of black screen time, but hey, even on the news programs, its good 90% of the time.

I may have some time this weekend to work on the new stuff. Look for an update soon.
