Also, wat command controls the modifier for the dictionary? I've changed the value for dictionary_modifier to no effect.

Currently running tests on the logo_threshold settings.
I had no idea that was an option!

Indeed, could you please list all the .ini modifiers, and possibly a short explanation of what each does?
I know the obvious ones, but it seems there are MANY more than are included in the .ini
Maybe when you post the next version, include an ini with every option, even if they're rem'd out?
It would be nice to do testing, on various settings, of the various modifiers.
For consistency, I'm using the same recording for all testing, and comparing to a log from 0.64 that was near 100%.
So far, I'm extremely close, but for that one commercial, that just isn't found.
BTW, logo_threshold=0.80 didn't find it.
Taking the bold approach, I increased it to 0.85, and it was MUCH better, but still not cutting exactly where it should, so I dropped it to 0.83, and it's perfect!
I now have perfect commercial detection on this show, without using scene_change at all.
Running tests on all major channels now. I'll let you know the outcome.

Another note, using detect method=43 (because you messed up scene change ) comskip runs in ~3.5 minutes per hour.

It contains a description of all tunable parameters and the cvs file format helping you to tune and it has some improvements in aspect ratio and logo recognition.

During my work on using aspect ratio changes for finding cutpoints I have broken the scene change algorithm. (option 4)
Please do not use it for the moment.
It will work again in the next release.

do we include the scene change now?

You can.
The algorith scores all blocks with more then twice the average scene changes towards commercial, at least that is the intention.
