2) you can put the folder anywhere that makes sense. You configure the path to the folder when you set up the xmltv source in Config (tuner setup)
3) My main question is on the uuid and how to get your own. I configured Titan and have Hauppauge software installed, but don't see anything in the reg.

Can't recall the batch file name, but GB-PVR will call a batch file prior to doing an EPG update (which is where you can run an external utility to get an XMLTV file). There is also a second file that will do processing after the EPG has been imported.

Will someone be making a thread for the diffrent methods. It gets confusing with bits and peices everywhere in this thread.

I agree, ioan and whurlston (or fly) why don't you start an new thread with Titan or Yahoo TV or some unique name for the thread. Or if anyone else has an idea, post it under a "general EPG" thread.

ioan Wrote:Sub, I have few questions:
1. will gbpvr call this application to get the listing or I have to make it pull the listing automatically everyday?
Usually GB-PVR will just read the xmltv file at the specified location, and the user would have had to run it prior to this. That said, many people (myself included) run their xmltv utility in the UpdateEpg.bat file, which will be run immediately prior the EPG update.

Quote:2. where should I save the xmltv file, in what folder and what name?
It can be pretty much anywhere. Probably best to not put it in the GB-PVR directory, since an effort is underway to remove updated files from that directory (for vista compatibility).

Wherever it ends up, the user enters the filename when they setup their capture source.

I've downloaded your app and tried it out. When I enter the UUID from my registry and my local zip code, the app displays 'Please Wait' for about 1 second and then stops. The provider list does not populate and there is no error message. Any ideas?

That's a good question. I installed the Titan TV Scheduler from Hauppauge but I don't see that it does much. It does not appear to download any EPG data, just does 'remote scheduling'. This one (I hope I did this right...):

The functions it does seem to match the ones here: http://www.titantv.com/Services/PartnerTools.asmx so I don't think these UUID's are the ones to use to download listings (esp. since it gives an 'invalid uuid' error :p )...

Hmm, zip code 75056, Dish Network w/ locals or Dish Network Central Timezone. it seems to download okay, and I save the file. I get channel id '0' for about half of the channels.

<tv generator-info-name="tv_grab_us_titantv">
<display-name lang="en">DNTWRK</display-name>

<display-name lang="en">REELZ</display-name>

</snip>

When I do an epg update (as an xmltv file) then it will list only 2 channels, DNTWRK as channel 0, and REELZ as channel 1.

Attached is the entire file...

You need to REGISTER after loading the scheduler app. If you have a userid already, fill out everything THEN click the box for "already have a userid", put in your user info and register. It will put everything, zipcode all that in your registry.

I will as soon as I'm ready to post my first test app.

Here's a quick status update:
1) I can add support for just about any tuner card so that you can set up your lineups.
2) I can now initiate a guide update through without having to start the Go for TV app. (This eliminates the problem of tuners being inaccessible to GB-PVR.)
3) I can access all the lineup data.

Things still to do:
1) Test multiple lineup configurations.
2) Actually output the data.

WinTV.... Actually the app should be in your start menu under Hauppauge. I'm at work but if I recall it was remote scheduling via Titan or something like that. A small window pops up looking like the green box of the scheduler. It will tell you if you need to register (cause you don't have the info in your reg).

Seems kinda shortsighted if they want it to be a 24/7 PVR software. :confused:

Maybe restart it the first time ? Since you've restarted it will it update automatically from now on possibly ?
