gnutech Wrote:It sounds like it may be a problem with the Yahoo! EPG. I guess that's what we get for using Yahoo!. As for YApi2Xml, I would stick to whatever you guys have that resembles a standard (i.e, 179 = on-screen, ### = season, etc). That way other applications like I-xmltv will find the right information in the correct place in the future. Perhaps we'll just have to look to a different free EPG source that includes all of the show meta information, consistently.

What do you guys think?

Gary

P.S. See I'm not that unreasonable.

If you have no onscreen episode numbers something is wrong. you should have some at least.

The problem is Yahoo is providing the best "free" data. The scrapers can't get nearly the data we can.

I am getting some onscreen episode numbers just not the shows I want them for (i.e., South Park, The Unit, Heroes, etc). Any idea why Yahoo! only provides onscreen episode numbers for some programs and not others or is that a question for the powers that be?

Regardless, thank you for your efforts. I guess this is as good as it gets for "free."

You're right. I looked through the data for The Unit and you're right, no season or episode numbers. Two of us are working on a totally kick ass solution but its no where near ready. probably a couple months.

Well quit waisting your time with me and get to it, man. When you get a chance, you'll have to pm me some details about this slick solution of yours.

Thanks again for your previous assistance.

Respectfully,

Gary

I installed yapi2xml, set it up per the instructions, selected my provider, and downloaded the data but I am not getting the xml output file. I've tried it repeatedly. There's no log file, either. I haven't modified the Options, messed with the Channel Remapper, or anything other than executed "Get EPG" and "Download And Parse Listings". But I can't get any output created. Suggestions?

Does yapi2xml have permission to write to the directory? If you don't have a log file that means it can't write to the directory most likely.

Everything goes well for me with yapi2xml until i try and add it the settings to the gbpvr config. When i try to update epg i get the following error:

Your EPG source does not appear to be configured correctly. Please check the EPG source settings and try again. System.Data.OleDbException: The field is too small to accept the amount of data you attempted to add. Try inserting or pasting less data... (see attachment)

Has anyone else had this error? What can I do to resolve the problem?

wow, thats a new one.

run and epg update and then post your gbpvr logs and your yapi2xml logs. Did you set yapi2xml up?

I suspect you've got lots of channels with exactly the same name. Probably all called "PPV" or similar.

This used to cause a problem like this for people using the old Access MDB database, which I can see you're still using.

I'd try to get rid of duplicates, and also use ChangeDatabase to switch to SQLite.
