Hi again Bubonic,

I know what the problem is, I am behind a proxy server

so you need to able to either allow me to specify proxy settings for you app or pick up my default proxy settings

If I bypass my proxy your app works fine aprt from the fact the guardian site doesnt have listings for the north of Scotland [Grampian ITV to be precise]

Hi Tkgafs,

I'll add the extra channel listings for Grampian etc, and put a link to the updated file here. It shouldn't take me too long to do.

As for the proxy bit, i'm not too sure on that one. I'll have a look and see if there is something i can do.

Many thanks,

Chris.

Herbs I cant find the link could you repost it please

Hi again,

I've fixed the (unhelpful) error message so that it will tell you what file can't be found. The error message won't be displayed if you are runing the exe with the /auto switch.

Also, i have updated the channel listing to include the regional variations such as Grampian, Ulster etc.

All you need to do is redownload the zip file and install.

Download UKTVGrabber.zip

Many thanks,

Chris.

...is it by design that only one day gets downloaded whenever the tvgrabber is invoked?

Hi mamema,

Kind of.....

The Guardian web site only lists the current days television listings (unfortunately). I chose this web site for the tv listings because their links to each page are 'hard coded' and as such i didn't think that they would be making that many changes on a regular basis, which could potentially 'break' any listing grabber.

Also, as the radio times web site is currently blocking the XMLTV grabber, i figured that a days worth of listings was better than no listings at all.....

Can I just confirm that the EPG outage problem returns the following error when trying to update, or do I have a completly unrelated problem....

XMLTV: error reading xml: Value cannot be null.
Parameter name: String

This could save me time trying out other EPG sources,

Cheers

Hi bubonic

i have got your programme working fine thanks. All goes fine and updates into the epg and shows full details but programmes do not record. A folder is made, the recording icon goes green, but no file is made in the folder. the xml file from Bleb works, but somehow yours does not.
The only difference i can see in the two files are that yours does not show a stop time for each programme.

any ideas?  thanks

Hi alancs,

I have been testing this and found exactly the same problem. I have no idea why this is happening but i'm going to take a look at it today and see if i can sort it out.

Thanks,

Chris.

Guys,

I use (and have done for many weeks now) GrabEPG.exe from Rubicon Systems and it works a treat for UK channels. It creates an XML file which is read by GBPVR with no problems whatsoever.

Regards
Darren
