I think you can buy the cables through the JP1 forum, but I made my cable with about $5 worth of bits from radio shack; if I can do it, it must be easy

Once you have your cable, you will be able to learn the commands into your 8910, download them to the pc and edit them, create your own 'code' and then upload them back to the remote, thus saving memory in the 8910.

JP1 cable is (relatively) cheap and efficient. If you really don't want to go the JP1 route, the RM and IR software available over at the JP1 Forum COULD allow you to find an upgrade file for the FUSION and update the 8910 via the audio modem... this would only work if someone had posted a (more) complete upgrade for the FUSION over at JP1 forum... otherwise you can go the route that groover mentioned.
